That50'sGuy Posted December 12, 2018 Report Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) Well I felt like taking a break from my map (Retail) to work on a little side project, so this is what I put together last night. The CT-Spawn for my next map: Reich (It's a German word, pronounced as "Like" but replace the L with an R). Set during the hypothetical 4'th German Reich. For this I only used custom (And shiny) textures on the brushes. And the flag is my own little artistic rendition of what the 4'th Reich flag may look like (The colors of the flag are from the shortly used Post-War German flag). And this is the 4'th Reich German flag design. Edited December 12, 2018 by I ♡ The 1950's Brightness 1 Quote
VIOLATION Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 (edited) New round of random scenes I've done that most likely won't go anywhere further First is based on the Kensington/Badlands area in Philadelphia: Second is one of many iterations of a coastal English village I've wanted to expand upon and have made versions of for ages: (Cheers to de_highlands + ElectroSheep for some of the models in the latter screens -- starting working on my own inspired models last year but had yours as placeholders) Edited December 17, 2018 by VIOLATION GrillusRetardus, Fnugz, MikeGon and 9 others 12 Quote
blackdog Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 Most windows look a bit weird I think, are these scenes for env-art, where they art tests for actual maps…? Quote
VIOLATION Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 Well they're certainly not supposed to be a finished product. Most things I do usually begin with a small section block out that I get carried away detailing to get a better feel of what a more finished area of the map would look like, then I drop the project and move on Quote
Anduriel Posted December 18, 2018 Report Posted December 18, 2018 Here's another sign of life from my de_losttemple remake. This project got dropped and picked up again a few times and I feel really bad about that. Still I absolutely want to finish it. There's one big step I have yet to take to get closer to that goal, which is learning how to make textures. I will need a good amount of custom content to give it the look I've got in mind. So still a long way to go, but here's at least a WIP screenshot of the A site. El Moroes, Minos, Teddy Graham and 7 others 9 1 Quote

Serialmapper Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) i'm working on a awp map, with my favorite combination: sea, sunset, flowers, rocks (no freaking crates !) Edited December 26, 2018 by Serialmapper VIOLATION, Adroon, El Moroes and 27 others 25 5 Quote
RA7 Posted December 26, 2018 Report Posted December 26, 2018 It needs a yacht in the distance or some other kind of boat Quote
fewseb Posted December 26, 2018 Report Posted December 26, 2018 The sun sets in Arizona About 10 months in on this map, still a lot to finish, (such as all the strangely lit props and finishing sign work.) I hope I can get this out before it hits the 1 year mark but its important not to rush this project. Serialmapper, grapen, a Chunk and 4 others 7 Quote

Looks great! For am AWP map it doesn’t seem to offer a very quick line of sight, which is kinda the staple for these? I kinda feel it needs a man-made structure like a hut or something. Quote
Serialmapper Posted December 26, 2018 Report Posted December 26, 2018 (edited) @blackdog awp maps may vary, most of them are quite flat and the line of sight is right from the spawn point, which is frustrating sometimes. Also they have a lot of walls and crates. Although symmetrical, this one i wanted to be as natural as possible, in the source engine's limits. Edited December 26, 2018 by Serialmapper Quote
blackdog Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 @Serialmapper yeah I get it, I don’t mean you need spawn visibility, but I feel there should be a “long” immediately available with some more space, could be a long beach with maybe a shipwreck to provide some cover middle ground. I’m not suggesting adding crates as I have the same complaint as you on that, but strongly feel there should be a hut/bungalow at the top just to give a sense of purpose to the map, and most importantly makes it easier to refer to “left/right side” of the map. Anyway just my two cents Quote
NikiOo Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 Remember that ugly ass wall from two weeks ago? Decided to make a small environment out of it. Don't know if this classifies as Models or Levels. There's some more images on my ArtStation: https://nikio.artstation.com/ a Chunk, Squad, jd40 and 8 others 10 1 Quote
