Fuck employees!

If you are strict with them, they moan. If you're kind with them, they do the fuck they want.

Why can't people just do what they're told?! ?

PS: Also thanks fucking IT managers that decide to block services like Steam and Uplay without any notice #firstworldproblems

Thanks for the support guys. So far work have been pretty reasonable about the whole situation. It's not a huge surprise to me as work has become increasingly patchy and they're a small company, it's just massively frustrating given the timing.

But if anyone knows of someone looking for a guy who is capable with web technologies, graphic design and first/second line IT support (preferably around London) it would be greatly appreciated if you could point me their way :)

No problem. Try to stay positive.

Depending on your rate, hit me up with a PM if you want a freelance gig. I don't have the time to setup my website (we talked about that before) so maybe I can sponsor you some :)

The great marathon to find a job at the end of this final school year has begun...

I'd like to ask the insiders a question about this: I'll be available for hire in July. I'd like to get a junior position in one of my target companies. I think I'm a good junior if I compare myself to my school colleagues and the juniors I met in previous companies, I can do the work. I have an 8 months Xp on a AAA mobile game project and 2 released games with several million players (plus other projects including the current creation of an hunting open world game). Concidering the taks and responsabilities I had on these projects, I think I've proved myself, I think I can apply to junior positions. But can I? 'cause I'm not even gratuated yet...

So the real point is here: several companies will finish their internship recruitment program for this summer shortly. I should probably wait a bit if I want to apply to a true position starting in july. But I'm scared to miss the summer internship programs 'cause what if I'm wrong and I can't get a job? Should I apply to everything ? Maybe I should just simply get back to Eden Games once again.
I'm confident about my skills but I'm not sure what I am in the eyes of a recruiter between a graduated guy and a junior designer.

Some thoughts on this?

Intern and junior are basically the same thing in terms of work, some might say a junior is a little more advanced, but looking at your list of experience you are far more qualified than most developers first "junior" job. Some developers have various perks to being an Intern (free lunch, paid apartment) so moving to a junior position puts you into the real world. You might know this already but it';s worth sharing.

Hell, with your experience you might be able to apply for regular positions, and if you don't hit their mark they might offer you a junior. Just go for it, school means nothing for designers. If a great developer came knocking at your door now, I'd go for it, screw the "qualification" :v

@TheOnlyDoubleF you are greatly skilled, don't doubt yourself! Like Chris says, I'd expect you to get a proper position already, so just apply for whatever, then they might offer a junior or… dunno if is realistic saying they could offer internship reading you're in school. But come July you'll have your degree no? So I don't see why they would do that.

Definitely apply at the company you already worked! They know you so you have a head start (I would think).

I just signed a creditcontract for lineair algebra, statistics and philosophy in a university. These three courses are mandatory in all the scientific branches. The uncertainty if I could handle university has always lingered in my mind. So finally I'm going for it. If I can't handle it, I won't have regrets later in life. If I can handle it, I'll start full time education next year. This is the third time I go to school. We'll see if the saying "Third time's the charm." holds up.

You're a game designer with great art ability, you've done team management and you have a mobile app with 3 million players. If I were interviewing you there's a very good chance I'd hire you right away.

I think you are going to do very well in the future :)

Split from my girlfriend of 9 years about a week ago (when I was on holiday in France- basically by text! - when someone says 'we need to talk when you get back, you're not going to like it' the implication is just the same as saying the actual phrase ). We almost broke up before Christmas but we decided to try work through the communication issues.

Not really heartbroken or anything, it's a bit lonely going back to an empty flat every night. I'm eating a lot of couscous.

It just wasn't working the same anymore- we didn't connect anymore on all level other than the superficial. People change and if you don't react you'll end up distant. I've been clinically trying to work out where I want to live just now, splitting our belongings and paying off bills etc.

I'd like to thank the people on here that I've spoken to and who have been helping me- if just by discussing. You know who you are.

At the drive-in announced new music and a tour this week too. Got tickets to the dublin show- never been to dublin before. After an unexpected start I think 2016 is gonna be okay :)

Got the highest grade in two courses in a row now and started going to the gym. My diet is working like a charm and my stomach feels better, but it will take weeks before I know for sure how my gut handles it. Soon I have caught up with school, so tired of being behind. But for the first time in months I feel like everything in life is moving forward, each day is a step forward.

A mixed feeling of happy but also extremely stressed.
