dkm Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 I just want to point out that in less than 29h they have over 423 000 views, and look at the thumbs up/down ratio . . . The point of it is that they already won ! The HOLE INTERNET is saying HATRED. We can say this game is bullshit, press can say that but the game will sell - It's not hard to sell a digital game even by your own. What I know that they made a storm that shows us where is the line, the numbers of selled copies will tell us if we can actually cross that line - and again please don't tell me that we can/can't. What did they "win"? Regardless if it sells or not (which actually doesn't matter), I personally wouldn't be proud to "make it" based on the values depicted in the trailer. I'd rather sell 5k copies of a game that reflects my ethics than 100k+ based on sensationalism and...well...hatred. Also the number of sold copies will not tell us anything except that you can really sell anything... (and that comes from a guy who spent 2,5y working on a nazi killing simulation...) PogoP Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 I can't wait to cross the line into mass genocide! Yay! Quote

What did they win ? Fame at this point it doesn't matter what kind of And pogop man, srsly no one is telling you to do this, nor to play this game Quote
Pampers Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 They've had their 15 mins in the spotlight now. No need to give this anymore attention. Puddy, blackdog, knj and 1 other 4 Quote
dux Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 People will buy it and play it just to see what the huge fuss is about, not because it will be a good game or anything. I guess you could class this as an exploitation game. knj and blackdog 2 Quote
DrywallDreams Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 http://fucknovideogames.tumblr.com/post/100204212288/hatred-is-a-genocide-simulator-developed-by-neo-nazis lol Another team member, ‘CEO and Animator’ Jarosław Zieliński, has prominently displayed an endorsement on his public Facebook page of the Polska Liga Obrony: an established nationalist Islamophobic, anti-immigration hate group. This reminds me the game "Terrorist Attack" (not sure about the game, i've read this article long time ago), made by white suprematists where you have to kill dozen of black gang members, coming to their house and kill them, in the way this game show it. Also, i'm not sure how relevant it is to stalk someone's profile on facebook and decide that what you see if what this person his. We all know a person who re-posted once a shitty article about migrants taking our jobs and others nationnalists stuff. But you can't judge someone only with this hint. I don't say this guy is an angel or a devil, i'm not here for judging him. Just to prevent some witch-hunt. Yeah the headline "neo-nazi" and the reality, anti immigration don't match up. Sensationalist nonsense. "In this photo of the development team, we can see that one of the developers wears a shirt depicting a historical anti-communist military group (Żołnierze wyklęci, historically associated with the Freikorps) that is lionised by right wing extremists." Marcem, you need to learn what nazi and right wing mean. They are not the same thing. Ah you're right, my American values saw German things and thought Nazi (really though, was thinking the author actually did the reading they linked to, but I stand corrected). Alright, didn't want to turn this into a political debate, just thought that watching them dig themselves into a deeper hole was funny. Quote
blackdog Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) I'm an horrible person, I chuckled a couple of times. I'd happily try it, but it's the kind of game you want to get only on PSN or Games with Gold. The kind of game I can play in 30 min bursts when I really don't know what else to play or can't devote more time to a more serious game. The kind of game you forget very soon to have in the recesses of your hard drive. And I agree with lots of the critiques, there's a responsibility when making games, it's not proven that games (or movies) make you a psycho… but there are people convinced about that*, why give them something to talk? Also it's bad to stereotype the goth-metal loner in the role, as it's already like that in the mind of bigots (remember that it's Marylin Manson's fault the Columbine shooting?). I dunno, make him look like a white collar from Wall Street… so in the end I just think this sort of product makes things more difficult for your colleagues. Ps: I'm an hypocrite because then I get immensely pissed off if a game forces you to kill animals, if I had to make the choice, in Splinter Cell I'd stun the dog and kill the guard. *sometimes I do question myself to think if games alienate some kids Edited October 17, 2014 by blackdog knj 1 Quote
blackdog Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 it's a game, nothing more... I don't understand why this is different from GTA, where you can kill as many innocent people as you want without doing any mission.. Difference is that GTA is so much else. The rampages (which I take occasion to remember to everyone that were rewarded in earlier chapters) act as the release that gamers need after being on edge after a few missions. it's not the focus of the game Quote
Seldoon182 Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 This game is awesome! This remind me Rampage: the only one movie from Uwe Boll the maker of Contra. Quote

You even have to torture a guy in one of the missions of GTA V. Same in sleeping dogs btw. I have the feeling this is more a hatred against the studio than the violence of the game. Yeah it doesn't look that good, but give them a break it's an indie studio. Also some are saying the developers are neo-nazis or coming from the dark side of the moon or whatever. Really since when do we care where developers are coming from? This starts to sound more and more like politics, dig up the dirt and try to stop them in anyway possible.. I will buy a copy now for sure, just to support the developers. Edited October 18, 2014 by Xanthi Sentura and knj 2 Quote

Not saying the developers should be stopped, the critique is that they should know better. Quote
