there are MANY gamers who are sick and tired of censure in games.

 

I'm tired of censorship everywhere and even I wouldn't play such a game. Violence for violence's sake and for shock value only is rubbish.

Absolutely. There is a huge difference between an open-ended game like GTA (or Dishonored since 3Dnj brought it up) where you can kill everyone if you so desire, and a game like Hatred where the ONLY way of playing is to kill innocent people because it's funny right lolz.

 

For the record, I've completed Dishonored without killing a single person.

I dunno if the point is to make a statement against censorship and political correctness then it's not going far enough imo. It's trying to be offensive but without touching subject matters that will get peoples knickers in a bunch for real (unless the release date will coincide with some real life rampage). As such it is shallow and boring to me due to the lack of background story. It would help the game if there was more context to the protagonists motivations.

So is the point your shitty friends are trying to make that games like GTAV aren't serious enough about their violence? That the civilians should be begging for their lives and genocide should be an actual objective? That the game world shouldn't be a self aware parody and instead should try to be more realistic?

 

What censorship are they making a statement about exactly? Are school shootings and violent murderers not getting enough attention already?

 

Let's be honest here your shitty friends are just making a shitty game but are using shock value to get as much attention as possible. And of course it will get more press attention than actual good and interesting games. Fuck them

They're extremely gory, sure. But in a really twisted way the dude who's setting up all the traps is trying to help some individuals that he classifies as "helpess unless they face a life threatening situation". it's cheesy as fuck but at least there's some kind of explanation or reasoning on why you're seeing all that gore on screen.

To think they are inherently bad merely by looking at this trailer of A GAME, is narrow-minded and juvenile. You haven't met them, you haven't spoken to them, you know nothing about them.
