El_Exodus Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Played some GTA:O with friends and it's really fun Way more enjoyable than on the PS3 version. I also can't believe it, that we were able to play online so shortly after the release FMPONE and jackophant 2 Quote
Em' Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Yep, played it too. 3 missions solo, 3 missions Online. Not a single flaw till now Should i beat the solo first before going Online ? Also, i joined the crew --Em-- might be my nickname, not sure how it displays... Quote
Puddy Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Runs like a dream on my PC with settings maxed out. I play with an X360 controller for driving etc and kb+mouse for any shooting parts. Can't aim for shit on a controller xD Played a few missions and seeing San Andreas with these graphics and silky smooth frame rate was very pleasing. Can't wait to get online tomorrow for some carnage What's your PC like? Quote

Can't wait to get online tomorrow for some carnage What's your PC like? CPU: i7 2600k running at stock speeds GPU: MSI GTX 970 RAM: 16GB Game's installed on an SSD too. I think I maxed out all the settings except for AA on reflections and I left some of the higher end AA turned off. Not sure what FPS I'm getting but it feels very smooth. Rockstar did a pretty good job with the launch though. Apart from the slow download speeds on the patches the rest of my experience was surprisingly without any connection drops or anything. Considering hundreds of thousands of people were trying to connect at the same I'd take slow speeds over no connection at all. Well done R*! Quote
Vaya Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 I got a message this morning saying the game doesn't work if your windows account name has special characters in it. Fair warning for the mapcore polish contingent Buddy 1 Quote
jackophant Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Ah this game! Using the ol' controller atm, but will use kb+m for shooting next time round. the encryption was a little slow, my patch wasn't and I haven't had a hitch. Well done R* imo I'm still not quite sure how you gain ownership of a car in SP especially as I specced the bollocks off a lambo thing with hexagonal holes in the back, and it's disappeared without a trace :'( The preorder money has come in very handy Quote
FMPONE Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Running this game in 3840x2100 or whatever ridiculous resolution I got via my nvidia plugin, it's compltely insane -HP-, blackdog and TheOnlyDoubleF 3 Quote
Buddy Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Bought this in retail today. Might as well release this on Floppy or VHS instead. There is an upside though, it feels pretty nostalgic to swap the dvd's as the last game that made me do it was Planescape Torment waaaaay back. -HP- 1 Quote
DrywallDreams Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Alright, I said this was a good port, but whoever did input handling should be punched. A: Why does the game need to emulate a cursor? Windows has a fucking cursor you can use that doesn't lag. B: When the game is running, everything I type comes out super laggy in steam and background apps. Don't know how that happened. C: Why is caps lock a default bind?! And why is it not dependent on caps lock's state?! Caps lock can be inverted because of that, which is kind of annoying when the game has text chat. Quote
AyzOn Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 I'll leave this here, no idea if any of those fixes actually help though. http://www.pcgamer.com/gta-5-pc-fix-list/ Thrik 1 Quote

Steppenwolf Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 I have a problem with missing 60hz option. Have to set my monitor to 59hz. That seems to have made the keyboard driving a bit better but it's still not very good. The game looks and runs pretty well tho with a bit of tweaking. The fov for driving in first person is way too low and there doesnt seem to be an option for that. Also wondered about the strange choice for some of the default key bindings. I hope they will fix the little things soon. Quote
dux Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 This is what we endure for 1080p 60fps from console ports. Quote
gotcha Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 After 2 hrs of installing from discs, I have the joy of downloading 5gb with 40 KB/S for about 20 hrs. Fuck this, I just want to play... Quote
