The overall menu flow in mp is horrible, you spend 10 min loading and setting up, play for 2 mins, then 10 min with lobbies, menues and loading again. This part of the game is still very consolized still. P2p makes everything dodgy and random as well. But heists are awesome and work well

I've also encountered a few problems where my game is still running, but input isn't registered.

 

For example, I just drove my car into my newly (and first) purchased building. Screen faded to black and when it returned I was standing next to my car unable to move. I walked off and left it for a bit, but came back to someone shooting me in the back, so I was in the game, I just couldn't play it...

 

It's happened a few times entering/leaving missions and just generally being stuck in buildings.

 

70% of my time on GTA has been waiting, and I just don't have space on my SSD for it :'(

my install is on my hybrid hdd. it's not too bad- I think my processor is a bottleneck on my system in general - i5 750 (5 years old...) so I've just bought a new one.

nah I got a new mobo too

 

Intel Core i5 4690K 3.5GHz - 6MB Cache

 

ASRock B85 Pro4 Motherboard

 

~£250 with some thermal paste.

the I/O connections? that's an H81 chipset board, that's like... the lowliest budget of all low budgets for the 1150 socket.

 

But you've gone for the budget business chipset. Seems a shame to dress that beautiful, unlocked devil's canyon i5 in rags

Meh couldn't justify spending another 50-60 on a mobo on top of the processor costs just now to be honest. it's a decent update from the mobo+processor it has just now

An SSD won't help since it appears to be the actual connecting to other players/sessions which is taking so long. The actual loading is pretty fast normally.

isn't it the social club program that deals with the session handshakes? Maybe just need to install that on an SSD...

 

I think it the social club thing is a drag on the overall performance.

I realise the connections to other players/sessions won't be aided by the SSD, but I still have a pretty long initial load into singleplayer from desktop or switching to solo from online as well.

 

Glad to see they finally updated the iFruit app as well, now to mod my cars from my phone

Yeah the initial load for me is pretty quick on my SSD. Hopefully Rockstar will fix the connection issues to reduce the online load times!

 

I really don't know what to put on my custom number plate though xD

Yeah, Menus are the biggest flaw of MP i think... There is no really good information of what "server" you gonna join, mostly when i respond to a random invitation I have the "server full, wanna watch the player ?" popup. Or sometimes, no party found at all, or empty party (yaye, nice invitation system bro).

 

Fow now, I stopped playing online till i find some friends to play with :/

 

Oh, and i think this is the worst online experience i had with browsing and finding games. 0 transparency about what i'm going to do by clicking an option.
