OrnateBaboon Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Congrats! Who got a skin featured? Both the new maps available to play right now for a limited time in Operation Bravo . http://www.counter-strike.net/winteroffensive/ Edit: Took a look at the maps, and both are visually excellent. ShockaPop Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Congrats to those who got their skins in! I recognized already some from Mapcore-people (or just artists who came to Mapcore to showoff skins before and make this place more popular because so much content for CSGO comes from this community). Beck Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Congrats on the inclusions guys! Some damn good skins in here! I have a few questions for you guys. A friend of mine is looking to make some skins for CSGO and he's unsure of some things. 1) When he uploads a skin to the workshop he's assuming people can just download and use his skin? If so, does it just appear in their inventory and can they then just equip it? Will other people who have also downloaded the skin see it too? Or does the skin replace another skin the game? 2) What happens if a skin on the workshop is chosen to be included in the game? Does everyone who has downloaded the skin from the workshop have it removed from their game and will have to earn the skin then? I'm a little confused about the whole process myself to be honest so it'd be interesting to find out how all this works. Thanks guys! Quote
General Vivi Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 1) You can't download skins from the workshop. Only valve can choose the skin and allow people to use it through their in-game inventory system. 2) Once it has been chosen, it will be placed in a case that will be randomly dropped for players when they play the game. You will also be able to buy those cases when other players sell them online. Once someone has pulled your gun skin out of a crate, they might choose to sell it. At that point you can buy it on the market place (if you haven't gotten it yourself from a crate). Here is the official skin I made. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=193313088&searchtext= Here is the crate Valve placed it in. http://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/730/Winter%20Offensive%20Weapon%20Case Here is the Market page for people selling my gun skin. http://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=Rose+Iron&descriptions=1 --------------- Hope that makes sense! Let me know if your friend has anymore questions. Thurnip and Beck 2 Quote
