dux Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Nice stuff dux. Did you edit the contrast of that photo in photoshop ? Nope that's the actual lighting. Frie : The maps from the now deceased Adrenaline Gamer 2 mod. I've decided to patch it up and release it. Suggested and noted everyone, thanks Quote
Minos Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 oh btw, don't use strong color values (like the plain red light). Try some dark red instead. Quote
DudeTor Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Haven't touched hammer for a while and I had some free time to mess around. This is the result. Quote
ReNo Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Yay dux! So glad to hear you are going back to working on that map Quote
JeanPaul Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 I really like that map, but the lighting (light_enviroment) is oddly colored. Maybe a lighter color. Quote
Grinwhrl Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Dux - Nice work, I love the Unrealish Brush work to it. I agree with the previous comments about the railings and the red light. DudeTor - The level looks nice so far, very creative. Couple things I noticed and circled in red below - The cliff above the pillar, displacement isn't textured well. There is a wierd shadow or break in the rock model, not sure what wrong with it, just dosn't look good. One suggestion I have as well is to add something other then trees up on top of the cliffs where you see only sky in the second image, concrete buidling, pipes or something. - Dark Quote
Meotwister Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 alt+click is your friend. looks good for a quick start at something man keep it goin. Quote
Mr.Ben Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I love your portfolio dux, your NS map looks sexy as a mother fucker. Quote
dissonance Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 my pretty destructo-apartment. going to be in boston for the weekend, just thought i'd post these before i left: since this is an effect more than anything else, you can't really understand all that's going on just from looking at the screenshots (and you philistines probably wouldn't get it anyway ), i decided to upload the bsp for you: http://www.mysharefile.com/v/3014600/g_ ... 8.rar.html very wip; c&c needed. nooba Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Haven't had much time to work on my DoDS map lately. But I did do a quick change from green to snow. I prefer the snow version myself. Tell me what you think. If you don't remember what the green version looked like, here is a picture, click Quote
L4zy Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 @dissonance: the screenshots are too dark here on my flatscreen somehow so I can't say anything constructive. ^^ @nooba: Yeah! I really like the fog. Fits perfectly into this snow theme! Keep the settings for it. Quote
hessi Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 finally someone uses fog correctly. i like it. but your blend materials look weird. use a blendtexture to mask the blending with structure and not this vertexcolor like thing. check this out: http://www.thomashess.net/blendtextures.jpg Quote
Polaris Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Snow FTW! The fog coupled with the looming wall and building give it a really unique look. Quote
teeluu Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 nooba: 1st shot looks delicious, hessi is right about the blend materials tho. Anyway, lovely. How's it going in Oz btw? Didn't know you can map in Emerald city, if that's where you are Quote
