catfood Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) I like the theme!, very original and fresh. Only one thing that bothered me are those bulletproof bushes near bombsite A Adding animals that run off scared or swimming fish in the tanks would be the icing on the cake. Maybe sloths? they are not so hard to animate Edited March 21, 2014 by catfood Squad 1 Quote

FMPONE Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 It looks great! I think a dedicated artist would help take this one to the next level. Squad 1 Quote
iwxanthi Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Looks really nice. Though giving it an abandoned style might work better because of the missing animals. Squad 1 Quote
Squad Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 Looks sweet, can't wait to try it! Are you making new animal assets, or will it just be a fish and chicken zoo? I wish it would be possible to somehow put more animals in the zoo, but I'm afraid it's just gonna be fish I'm always open for cool ideas on how to implement them properly though I'd rely on sounds, maybe put some cages in a place that you can't access(but can see them) and add some lion roars or some crazy birds in the background.. I think it would make a pretty unique atmosphere Yup, animal sounds will definately be in to help creating atmosphere! I like the theme!, very original and fresh. Only one thing that bothered me are those bulletproof bushes near bombsite A Adding animals that run off scared or swimming fish in the tanks would be the icing on the cake. Bulletproof bushes have been fixed now, might still need some finetuning, but I'll see after next playtest. Some aquariums have a few fishes in them at the moment (func_fishpool), but it seems they sometimes get buggy when playing online (fishes swimming out of the aquarium). Custom animated fish/animals would really be awesome I think a dedicated artist would help take this one to the next level. Definately! If there's a dedicated artist out there that is willing to help out, don't hesitate to contact me Looks really nice. Though giving it an abandoned style might work better because of the missing animals. True, just wanted to make a map in a more modern setting after Ali Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions! Demonz312 and iwxanthi 2 Quote
Squad Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 Time for some new pictures I'm happy to say Yanzl is helping me out with models and textures and so far he's made an incredible amount of great stuff already! No zoo is complete without its own name, so I'm open for any suggestions. PaulH, PogoP, spence and 5 others 8 Quote

Vinneri Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I want to see that waterpool in B to break by bomb explosition and flood the water out.. For my eyes the A site doesn't have enough cover. Anyway, great project! Waiting for beta testing Squad 1 Quote
spence Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) This is looking great! I don't think the spray paint decals make much sense on the sand, maybe add some planks or something with the decals on them instead. I think some fine detail wouldn't go amiss in the human-occupied areas as well (litter and whatnot) but that's a really minor thing and perhaps a stylistic decision that may conflict with your goals, depending on if you want a cleaner look for the map overall. Can't say much else really except that I want to play it Edited April 4, 2014 by spence Squad 1 Quote
Squad Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 Thanks for the feedback! Zoo of Natural Hurgistory Not sure if you suggested that jokingly, but I kinda like it I want to see that waterpool in B to break by bomb explosition and flood the water out.. For my eyes the A site doesn't have enough cover. Anyway, great project! Waiting for beta testing Source engine gives enough problems with water as it is, so flooding water is not even on my mind A site has been like this more or less during at least 2 playtests and people liked it then, but we'll see how future playtests go. I'm hoping to do a playtest in the next 5 days! This is looking great! I don't think the spray paint decals make much sense on the sand, maybe add some planks or something with the decals on them instead. Can't say much else really except that I want to play it You're right about the decals. I'll try to come up with something more plausible. No areas are 100% finished, so smaller details will be added Quote

If Squad make it look like a new build zoo, it would also explain why there aren't any animals Squad and Demonz312 2 Quote
cashed Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 the skybox kind of reminds me of the bay area. with san francisco in the background. Bay Area Zoo? Squad 1 Quote
