Squad 2,754 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Hi all! Been working on this for a while now, thought it's about time I make a topic for it. Everything is still heavily WIP, but I just wanted to start getting feedback. The map is set in a zoo (duh!) and it's basically divided into a big interior (the aquarium building, where bombspot B is) and an outdoor area (bombspot A is located in one of the animal enclosures). On to some pictures! 37 paranoidMonkey, untor, shm0 and 34 others reacted to this
OrnateBaboon 729 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Looks great and plays well. I really like the variety in the screens. The only criticism I can give is that the yellow tiled floor looks a little too saturated compared to the other textures. Good luck with it! 1 Squad reacted to this
JeanPaul 391 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) This is really awesome. Is that the tf2 desert rock texture in the third shot? Edited March 20, 2014 by JeanPaul 1 Squad reacted to this
Squad 2,754 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Thanks! @ OB: agreed with the tile floor, I had grey cobbles there before, wanted to try something more colourful, but it's too much. Will tweak it This is really awesome. Is that the tf2 desert rock texture in the third shot? Yeh, it is It's a placeholder for now, needed something that looks like a "fake rock" texture. text_fish 1,027 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Looks sweet, can't wait to try it! Are you making new animal assets, or will it just be a fish and chicken zoo? 3 Baggle!, Squad and leplubodeslapin reacted to this
PogoP 2,369 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Looks ace! Please let one of the bombsites be a living Hippo or something, tied to a chair with a gag in its mouth. 7 JeanPaul, Psy, Squad and 4 others reacted to this

leplubodeslapin 1,417 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 I like the way you are working on your map, it's new and a bit crazy, i really would like to see animals in the map also ! I think you should work on your textures to create some bumpmaps and specular, because currently everything is flat and matt, it could really help. Have you worked on the lighting yet ? (i'm asking because it's not that bad if you haven't done anything yet, but it could be much better) 1 Squad reacted to this
kinggambit 311 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 It looks pretty polished now from when we testplayed it. Did you fix the weird water texture bug? (I think we were mentioning that you shouldn't apply water texture to the sides of the brushes) I think that was the only real problem I saw. Extra credit if you replaced chickens with turtles! 1 Squad reacted to this
Squad 2,754 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 Looks sweet, can't wait to try it! Are you making new animal assets, or will it just be a fish and chicken zoo? I wish it would be possible to somehow put more animals in the zoo, but I'm afraid it's just gonna be fish I'm always open for cool ideas on how to implement them properly though I like the way you are working on your map, it's new and a bit crazy, i really would like to see animals in the map also ! (i'm asking because it's not that bad if you haven't done anything yet, but it could be much better) Most tetures are actually stock ones and I'm using a fair bit of cs_agency's too. So any particular ones you think need extra work? I haven't done a lot on lighting so far, it's definately on my to do list It looks pretty polished now from when we testplayed it. Extra credit if you replaced chickens with turtles! There are a few water bugs still, so I'm not sure which one you mean. I never applied a water texture to the side of any water brush, so it must have been caused by something else (picture would always help!) /° Thanks for all the replies so far! I really appreciate it

I think it would make a pretty unique atmosphere 2 leplubodeslapin and Squad reacted to this
