ElectroSheep Posted April 26, 2013 Author Report Posted April 26, 2013 Well I have already made de_quetzalcoatl for 1.6 Quote
Rick_D Posted April 27, 2013 Report Posted April 27, 2013 Whaaaat ? I thought it was cool name ((((((((((( for sure, i just mean that a name should be catchy and easy to remember. think about someone in a server changing the map via rcon etc. militia, italy, dust, inferno, aztec - perfect names that work in a variety of use-cases. i think ruins is actually really good; it's a little non-descriptive and shouldn't be your final name but it's a good starting point in terms of simplicity. ElectroSheep Posted April 28, 2013 Author Report Posted April 28, 2013 Yeah but there is a de_ruins already for the CEVo contest. But until this one is not in the workshop, should be good for me ^^ Quote
OrnateBaboon Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 All I have is de_vestige or de_relic. Quote
Wail Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Throwing some ideas out there (I have no idea if any other maps use these names): de_inca, de_unearthed, de_excavation, de_ancient, de_amazon, de_couatl, de_predator, or any sort of South / Central American place name (Belize, Ecuador, etc.). ElectroSheep Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 Relic is nice, yeah ^^ but DE_UNCHARTED, haha joking El Moroes 1 Quote
Sjonsson Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 I agree with the others, de_relic is kewl! Quote
ElectroSheep Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 Fun to see the evolution in 1 month : I also started to work on a background with some moving mist : selmitto and Nexusdog 2 Quote
El Moroes Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Nice I'm sure it will be more interesting if you remove your rain ! IMO, the droplets are too large and you can't have a little rainy / humid atmosphere with this entity. Try to have custom particles to do that Quote
FMPONE Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 its going to sound bad but i think the very first iteration was the most natural seeming. it seems like you're losing the plot as time goes by with the lighting. sorry D: maybe try to go back to the night lighting but make it more readable? it's ambitious and a bit crazy but at least the look is coherent there imo. the new one just seems busy to me Seldoon182 1 Quote
Evert Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) I disagree with FMPONE! The last two ones are definatelly my favorites. I'd tone down the fog slightly in the last one though, it comes of as a bit monochrome atm. Agree with moroes about the rain. Try to add some more atmospheric subtle near cloud layer, could probably make it look nice with the default smokecloud entity, whatever it's called. Edited April 30, 2013 by Evert Quote
Puddy Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Last pic is definitely my favourite. It looks good whilst being very readable, which is an absolute must for CS. Quote
ElectroSheep Posted April 30, 2013 Author Report Posted April 30, 2013 I tried to make some small volumetric fog pieces but I failed actually I know there is some smoke cloud in particles but they are one shot (disapearing after one use) kikette 1 Quote
