Hey guys !!! :)

So after posting a bit in the wip section, time to make a topic for this map. It's a defuse map setted in aztec ruins. Wanted it to be my entry for the CEVO mapping contest but there is only 6 days left and I need to make 50% of the map until this XD.

I'm still worried about the lighting. Texture are a bit brighter than screenshots from WIP thread and lighting is in daylight. But don't know if this is final lighting. (also I don't know either if the final name will be ruins :v , so generic)

I'm also not fully happy for my A site, I want some parts of the map to be full of guerilleros wooden infrastructures, but I don't find a lot of good ideas / references. A is not guerilleros enough" ^^.

Looks great! Much better then the night time setting from the wip thread.

Some of the paths looks a bit dark, I usually prefer to have some back lighting when creating dark areas in order to bring forward the silhouettes of shitty campers without fucking up the mood :cool:

Looking good, but as you said yourself.. don't name it de_ruins please lol. So bland, generic, boring, I could keep going!

Yeah, you only have 7 days to finish it for CEVO, too bad!

Seriously, when I see some game like tomb raider and uncharted, there is always tons of foliages. So I can do this. (just need to not be gameplay killer.

Alos for the name, I don't know. Need to look at mexican famous location :)

Those 2 last shots are sexy !

I'm still not fond of the shadows, I would have preferred a more profound and stifling atmosphere, something sunny but also that brought out the "dense forest and lost ruins".

edit; nah, all screens are sexy. I would love to see it ingame. :D

Really liking it so far!

I think the flowers and foliage ideas are great. I also think that sprites acting as god rays could work in the open roof sections, for example in picture 3. Also dust motes wherever you can afford them to give the map a bit more depth. Similar to the old source version of de_dust's interiors.
