TheOnlyDoubleF Posted May 14, 2017 Report Posted May 14, 2017 I'm in a terrific period of unemployement where I throw all my attention on comics. I bought 'tons' of them, both french and english. I discovered many super cool stories. I didn't know the Gordon of Gotham series which is awesome ; Super boy here on the picture is not the DC superman thing, it's an old french superhero (very funny btw). I also find the "Forever evil" from DC which tells the story of the Syndicate taking over the world. The Justice Leagues are beaten so the vilains and the last heroes (basically, Batman) fight the Syndicate. It is really cool. Within those, I read for the first time some "Rogues" pages (they are Flash ennemies). I love the drawing of Scott Helpburn. I also found some old science fiction comics. I don't know if they existed anywhere else than France. They are from the mid 60's. It's in the same spirit than novels from this period in term of SF univers. So good finds. I found all of these in bric-a-brac for almost nothing. People just want to get rid of old stuff that they often have from their youth or from their parents. I got some superman and spiderman books for 10 or 20 cents... I have spent around 30 euros in a month for something like 130 comic books. So it's ridiculous and i'm very happy about it! ^^ leplubodeslapin, Sprony, Vaya and 1 other 4 Quote
blackdog Posted May 14, 2017 Report Posted May 14, 2017 Like I said elsewhere, very well done. I think old comics can provide ton of inspiration for games TheOnlyDoubleF 1 Quote

Radu Posted May 25, 2017 Report Posted May 25, 2017 @blackdog I better see you play all of them within the next weeks. blackdog 1 Quote
blackdog Posted May 26, 2017 Report Posted May 26, 2017 I wish @Radu, is an impossible task. I have started Spec Ops The Line recently, need to finish that before I start a new SP. Also should try working on the CS contest or DoI map… and probably not waste time watching TV, unfortunately I have to be selective with my time :/ Quote
grapen Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I'm sitting on an old, 1st gen 120 hz monitor with awful color calibration and contrast. I've mentioned before that I use my iPhone 7 for correction, and I wasn't lying. I'd like to pretend that I have time to play games these days, so I'd like 144hz with low MS, but I also want excellent color correction and contrast. What do I buy? An IPS panel? Are those as much of a gamble with bleed as they say? I doubt I'd spend more than €1k. Quote
leplubodeslapin Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Maybe take a look at VA / AMVA panels. These can be both high-fidelity and high-refreshrate (from what i've heard). I still have my old Acer GD245HQbid (first gen too), it's a TN panel but the colors were pretty great when it released (3 of Delta E, which is good, not amazing but good enough). Also, IPS panels aren't as slow as they used to be, you can still have something clean but only at 60 hz I guess. Quote

ASUS has a IPS with 144hz and g-sync for around €800, but I've heard there's a big risk for backbleed :/ Quote
Squad Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 I have a Iiyama ProLite XB2779QS (IPS) @ 60 Hz for almost 4 years. Never suffered from backbleeding. Quote
will2k Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 My Razer DeathAdder mouse died. I didn't want to dish out 70-80$ for a new razer. I stumbled upon this brand, Cougar, with good reviews. http://cougargaming.com/products/mice/ I ended up getting the entry level mouse, the 230M, for a measly 30$ So far, it is on par with the razer in terms of looks, build quality, form factor and precision. leplubodeslapin Posted July 17, 2017 Report Posted July 17, 2017 Citroën C5 2001 (first phase) V6 210 hp 115 000 km I'm so happy !!! :)))))) It's not the best looking car, but it can be very comfortable (leather interior, air conditionning, automatic gearbox, speed regulator, the famous hydropneumatic suspensions from Citroën...) or really powerful by just pressing the "SPORT" button (the gearbox reacts differently, the active suspensions becomes stiffer ...) It's an "old" car but it was the high-end in 2001, it's a great car. I changed the timing belt and made an oil drain. I'll just have to do the drain for the automatic gearbox and it's going to be perfect. Plus, it was kinda cheap : 1400€ for the car itself (negociated rate) + 1200€ for maintenance ! tomm, Fnugz, rosk and 5 others 8 Quote
