Jaayu28 Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Hexen II - Omfg it's so awesome, as much as I love old games, I missed the Hexen franchise, but when I started playing it, I couldn't get off the computer Now I know why Hellraid was often comparised to Hexen, Necromancer ftw! Steppenwolf Posted October 6, 2015 Report Posted October 6, 2015 I got hooked on Paradox strategy games lately. First Europa Universalis IV. Now i play Crusader Kings 2 which is even more fun. Steep learning curve to get into (had to watch couple hours of tutorials before i could even begin without being completely lost) but well worth it. Surprisingly provided me with some of the most hilarious moments that i had in gaming due to the crazy family drama that can happen in this game. For example last night my wife died. I married a new wife and after less then 9 months she gave birth to a cuckoo kid. Had her arrested and killed for high treason. On another occasion i had to conspire to kill my own mother to protect my sons inheritance. Had i died before mom, my brothers line would have inherited her title. Beck and jackophant 2 Quote
tomm Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Chaos reborn, this game is so well made.. yet there's only a few people playing it. The guy who designed the original xcom is behind it. It's a mixture of dark souls + xcom + heroes of might and magic. It's heavy RNG tho, so I guess that's why it's not for everyone.anyways, there's a demo on steam available, + it's 33% off atm.I suggest trying it out if you like turn based games. Quote
dux Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 So much Fallout 4. So much rage. So much anger. So much bugs. So much keep on playing. jackophant 1 Quote
Sentura Posted December 14, 2015 Author Report Posted December 14, 2015 Just finished Alien: Isolation. Great atmosphere and some interesting progression for the first 10 missions, but I couldn't help but feel it was somewhat lacking in the level design department. Too much backtracking, and definitely too many worst case scenarios happening at the same time. Of course the ladder you're going to grab is going to break, of course the elevator is going to stop, of course you're going to fall down a hatch right before you fucking finish an objective. Stuff like this just made the game a cliche that broke the immersion. It removed the element of horror and fear and replaced it with frustration because you have to yet again go through numerous hoops just to get to a point you already were at. Then there's also the improbability of stuff like Xenomorphs surviving the vaccuum of space and the ending being so anticlimactic it felt like all the things you've built up during the latter part of the game just falling apart. Still, Sevastopol was interesting place to explore, the deserted look of the station and the different people trying to survive was a super cool aspect, and I wish they would have explored that avenue more in terms of gameplay.
