Sentura Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 modelled in what program -- zbrush? Quote
e-freak Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 have you seen a real dead tree some time in the past? They usually b-r-e-a-kk sharp and not so soft and on a hell of different height levels. Additional Oaks are "Roundrooters" - they develop roots in two directions - once down and once to the sides so they can last storms for a very long time and are often the victims of boars who dig between the side-roots and eat the acorns. So my tips for improvement (of an already good model - don't get me wrong there): Wider roots, more splitting on the top and some edgier breaks up there. Found a Fotography of mine of an old tree: Quote
Psyshokiller Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Thanks for the hints. Those can even be accomplished by pulling some vertices around on the lowpoly. Sentura: My pipeline was: basemesh in max-> highpoly in zbrush-> lowpoly in max-> baking in zbrush. Quote

KIIIA Posted January 11, 2008 Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 One little wall prop model i made to test with the new UED, but haven`t found the time yet to get familiar with importing it to the new engine.....so, here`s just a render: Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 A little more of lowpoly characther modeling, i'm not satisfied, especially of the texture. That's poison ivy from batman (the cartoon) i tried to respect the style in 3D using a model sheet, but damn .. Quote
dux Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 The face bothers me the most koko. She looks like an old whore Quote
Meotwister Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I'm gonna have to agree... the wireframe looks great though. Quote
Ooghijmiqtxxa Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Hi guys, long time since I've posted something here. I'm probably going to do a whole tech set kind of like this. I had a lot of fun making this one. I'm used to making environmental textures so I have to worry about stuff tiling so this was fun because I got to put in some details. KoKo: That looks great! I instantly thought of the animated series Poison Ivy, so you're defiantly on the right track. I think the face is a little too fat. Once you get the posion ivy colors in there, it'll really pop. the0rthopaedicsurgeon Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I decided to model an Audi RS4 for no particular reason, just to see if I could and to get some low-poly practice. Hopefully I can get it skinned and imported in CSS. It's about 4200 polys and more or less done, except the side windows which need fixing. Quote
