OL Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 heres the wmv file, open it in a media player directly http://beancitynights.org/gamedev/Micro ... oscope.wmv Quote
Pomperi Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 The texture is heavy WIP, but I could really need a little input on it: It's mostly the weapon body that I'm not very pleased with texture-wise, but I'm kinda stuck. Quote
bitmap Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 how does this gun work? where do i put my hands? Quote
Pomperi Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 how does this gun work? where do i put my hands? The idea was something like this: Thanks HP =) Quote
kurt_loeffler Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 It needs a pipe bomb launcher \o/ The The reverse trigger thing might cause the gun to get stuck in a endless firing loop because of recoil. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Haha awesome , the texturing looks really sexy. But i would totally turn the grip to 90° for more badass effect. Quote
e-freak Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 it needs a break up in the larger areas. the part over the trigger handle is basically just grey. you could easily get some text, logo, badass scratch or what ever there and make it 200% more interesting. also try to add some lighting information into the diffuse as this is not a prop and at least in source some prepainted light adds a lot to the appearence of the weapon Quote
Pericolos0 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 thats really nice =) You can probably add some dark spots to the plain middle part to break it up a bit. Quote
D3ads Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I love your style! Look forward to seeing it finished Quote
Nurb Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Mr Pomp Yay! <3 Awesome work as always I'm working on this cannon atm. It's gonna have spinning platform underneeth it in the same blended sci-fi/pirate mid-/lowtech style. Would appreciate feedback Quote
jaboo224 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Nice except i think there should be a larger difference in the way you texture the cannon holder and the cannon itself. they shouldnt look like they are the exact materials. Quote
Nurb Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Thanks I considered making the frame or parts of it in wood, and in retrospect I think I should have, but I decided to follow the inspiration-photo which I found on google (author unknown): http://www.claeng.com/__forumpublish/cannon_ref.jpg The spinning platform will be mainly wood with a structure in the same material as the cannon. It will also have a railtrack on top which the cannon will roll on when it recoils (the reason for the shape of the wheels). The cannonballs I imagine beeing a metal structure around a transparent core with some scifi-ish energysource inside (Ion cannonballs!). These could also be used as potential lightsources in a level ^^ Quote
General Vivi Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 love the look and the color scheme Quote
