Bunglo Posted August 10, 2021 Report Posted August 10, 2021 Sweet. Once scalpers stop being assholes or the great GPU shortage of 2021 ends, I can build a system that will run this. Quote
ZZZ Posted August 11, 2021 Report Posted August 11, 2021 (edited) The same tracing that is done for reflections is also done for indirect lighting. That is how physics is. What do wee need to get 120fps and RT? RAM that is faster than 1000 GB/s? 30 teraflops? Edited August 11, 2021 by 0kelvin Quote

WD Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) Super interesting stuff. Before watching that deep dive video, I knew there was some virtualization black magic stuff happening with Nanite just from watching how it's set up from the Early Access and what features it currently supports. But the fact that it's just triangles that are changing in sub-pixel level makes it just as that, and that I truly understood less than half of the words in that video. Virtualized black magic stuff. Can you even say black magic anymore? I haven't hung around in them Twitters for years. Edited November 9, 2021 by WD blackdog and Zarsky 1 1 Quote

If you’re old enough, this will remind you of those demos/games bundled with the 3D accelerators. Lots of graphics, minimum interactivity. Almost 30 years and things have not changed. Quote

They have a new AI system that allows simulating thousands of NPCs and each car crash is unique thanks to their new choas physics system. DF goes into detail about whats up: Quote
