grapen Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Played a little CS for the first time in just about forever, got a case, figured I'd open it since I had like €10 in funds. Instant regret after letting it spin, "this is a fucking scam". Out pops a bowie doppler P4. Well, shit. Squad, leplubodeslapin, Bastion and 2 others 5 Quote

My friend list for csgo consists only of people who either have opened hundreds of cases to get crap, and those who gave up and just directly brought a nice knife. grapen Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Yeah, I still am of the opinion that cases are a scam for as long as they don't publicly reveal the odds (despite us already knowing them). Quote

Because the odds are not publicly available on the key/case. Edit: to eloborate, I don't mind the cases or the economy of digital goods themselves, they are fine, but I believe all addictive acitivites should be up front with the details, as that hopefully will deter at least some addiction. blackdog Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 I rather buy 3 ice creams than open a crate. I won't participate in this kind of economy unless there's virtual in game coin I can earn by just playing. Bastion and Lizard 2 Quote

Or just do some good ol' fashioned trading. Quote

You can't earn them, but you can randomly get some. I personnally bought all my skins by reselling souvenir cases I got by watching majors. It did participate in the business since someone's money got in buying those cases. Don't know if that would make you comfortable with it considering that fact? Quote
blackdog Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) Who has time for that? I haven't played CS in ages, even if I could play sort of regularly I wouldn't want to waste my time scavenging for a good deal. Plus, except the knives and gloves I find CSGO weapons and animations plain ugly, with very few exceptions; I particularly hate the nades. What is valve doing with all this money? @laminutederire I play so little games in general that I rather play than watch. Only reason I watched a couple matches when I found the re-airs on YT is trying to see what pros do to learn what they need in terms of mapping. Edited June 14, 2017 by blackdog Quote

I only watch pro matches during majors to learn as well Very informative though. The scene recently seem lest stale than it was at one point, that makes for varied approaches of the game which are interesting to study so as to map with teamwork in mind. No one knows what the heck they do with that money except them I'm afraid... They don't make that many games anymore, so I'd say they majorly invest in VR and e-sports? Quote

blackdog Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 Kudos @Pampers! This popped up on my yt, @FMPONE is something you've been asked to fix/you tried fixing? Seems more like only Valve could This was in the related The stuff people come up with... is just scary. Wonder in the second video if there was any intention fit this for the mapper, or the bangable was put her for other reasons Quote

blackdog Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) Oh the internet was decent and I spent I think 5h playing after work and then late at night ? Gosh such a good feeling after all this time! Played mostly operation maps to try stuff I've never seen, unfortunately there's a clear inclination toward Blackgold and Thrill, then Austria came up frequently, so that's about what I could try properly. These are all so good for Casual. Didn't really like Insertion. Happened to play a Competitive match on Shipped, but was as well first time I ever played the map so wasn't that fun. Really enjoyed the other Competitive match played on Mirage, we were down like 5-0 or worse and we managed to regain the T side winning by 2, then increased slightly on the CT very happy and surprised with myself as I closed 4-5 rounds on my own on 1v2-1v3. Question: is it possible to collect weapon skins by picking up dropped weapons? Also do skins alter the way bullet hit? I picked up an "Elite" AK and headshotted two in a row while moving… I was just suppressing not hoping to kill anyone lol. Edited June 27, 2017 by blackdog Quote
