Update,

Haven't posted much because I did a lot of stuff that I can't show... Optimization yay \o/

I toned down the fog as suggested, and added details to be more close to the Los Angeles River (I want the city in the background to be in 3D like on vertigo, if I have time...)

And a textured Billboard! (will improve the texture)
I am happy because I was struggling with the model importation for months now, I finally figured how to use the WallWorm tool (Thank you Shawn Olson! Love you!)
(the little red cube at the bottom is my first model ever!!) Now nothing will stop me \o/

Now that I figured out how to deal with textures and models, I will try to post more often...
Will update the map on the workshop when I will clean all the mess I have done in the folders..
And I still have to make an entry to the MapCore contest :>

Here are 2 screenshots of one of the bombsites. Im starting to add custom textures. The grey stairs will become a custom prop (made of stone) to look like a set of the "lord of the ring" kind of movie.image.thumb.jpg.af0feaadb5e1f6e0dffd7d29image.thumb.jpg.8b047426b9356d4435f75152

Here are some poles with red ropes frome what will become the CT spawn (entrance of universal studio). The texture is a little bit crappy, It is my way of quickly "sketching" the area.

And the "Universtar Studios" metal sphere which is slowly coming together. Im happy with the scale, now it needs a good UV unwraping, a good texturing and some material effects...

I am curently trying to learn how to pack the custom content to release a playable version as soon as possible. I read the tutorials of Tophattwhafle about custom content, but it is still hard to understand. I will get to it eventually.

Yo,

I saw your map earlier on Reddit and wanted to try it out. Checked the map and more, blablabla. I'm not a Mapper, so I just jumped around and looked for gameplay stuff.

Starting on the way to A, I believe this way is way too small and people are just blocking each other when running through.

Coming to bombsite A, I think you need a bit of cover for the CT's here, maybe remove the right side of upper and add a bit of cover so it's still balanced when going in there.

Going behind it, it's also pretty open. Maybe add some stuff there too, no idea what tho.

To my right here, there's a room with a window to look out, which I am not able to shoot. I don't know if this is intended, but I think it should actually stay there, otherwhise the CT's can make a really fast entryfrag with a sniper rifle, which would make it really OP.

To the right of the spot, there are stairs to get to upper, and at that way there's also the shrubbery at the right, I don't know if it's intended that you're allowed to jump on there.

Going to T spawn, there's a house with stairs to go down, but there's also a ladder to the left. I tried to go up, but I just fell through it and was stuck under it.

On the way to A, I also saw the entrance with the opened gates and an invisible wall, I think you should close the gates to it looks nicer.

Going to bombsite B, I noticed this:

There's an invisible wall, which doesn't look really nice. Maybe replace it with something bigger?

 

In the house before B, there's also those stairs, if you ask me, they're too small and people would block eachother, also running down can be a bit stupid.

Hope a bit of my feedback can be used, I really like the idea of the map and am a huge fan of the easter eggs you already have in. I'll probably maptest it with some friends in the future :)

Thank you NNS for your feedback! Those areas arround the bomb site A need a lot of work, I want here to do something like this :

but for now Im just looking for refrences of outdoor movie shootings, and probably something sci-fi, like Star Wars, Avengers... with destroyed urban stuff.

And yes... the stairs don't work :P

This is a pretty cool idea. I love the canal, it's really well done.
If i had to critique something aesthetically I'd say that you maybe use too many and too bright colors in some places, and I hope you are going to turn down the saturation on those green screens, i know they are supposed to be really green but I think it's a bit too much at the moment.
Can't wait to see this one done.
