wilco Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 HP I was thinking of the future when we turn into mapcore.porated and take over the world, obviously
Chimeray Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Just a mashup from my favourite bits of other people's logos so far, with a few suble added tweaks I like these, the others are too... stiff, corporate. I don't want to step on anybody's toes or anything but yeah, that's what I feel They're well designed obviously, but yeah... Looking forward to what else you come up with though, Thurnip! This thread is full of awesome, very cool that so much people are involved.
Zyn Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Deadline tomorrow eh, good god I need to work on something since I have ideas but they just remain as such
Mackin Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Here are a few more design ideas. I have tried to expand upon my original "axis and plant shoot" idea whilst trying something new at the same time. Thanks for all the feedback for my original designs, I took on board many of the suggestions I received from you guys!
9centwhore Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Can someone please humour me and try combining these two earlier submissions from generalvivi and Jenn0_Bing by using the gradients or gradient colours to shade the inner area for the white version and to shade the core for the black version. I think some of you were moving toward this iteration anyway before other awesome submissions came in but I'm still curious as to what this would look like outside of my imagination :derp: Hope this makes sense:
Jenn0_Bing Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 OK, here's a mock-up with Thurnip's Mapcore font, if we wanted the subtext which I think is pretty cool it may need a similar font treatment, I'm just using a stock font atm. It's also a slightly updated version of my logo, no changes to the shape, I've just warmed the colours a little and shaded the sphere as per Thriks suggestion
Sentura Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 we're getting there imo, i dig the white on blue color scheme
Vilham Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 i dig all three of those tbh, all the logos so far have been great.
Jenn0_Bing Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I'm completely torn on the inside lines, I think I've spent so long on it I don't know which is better. I've got versions saved with both I just happened to use that one for the mock-up.
Skjalg Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Could you try coloring the three cube sides with red, green and blue? And maybe make the core inside the cube look like a glowing sun about to explode
wilco Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Not to keen on the inside lines either, and I must admit I still see the shield rather then an inner core as mentioned before - any other way to illustrate the core?
Puddy Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Just a mashup from my favourite bits of other people's logos so far, with a few suble added tweaks the topleft with tweaked text and removed "dot" from the O... would be great imho.
Thrik Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 I'm not at all against the inner lines above and think they work quite well. In fact I really like the last mock-up in general. I'd go with what you feel looks best Jenn, as there is a point where design by committee can result in literally endless iterating — there has to be a cut-off point. With that said the lines do seem to be particularly divisive so it might be worth doing a final mock-up of both variations.
Zyn Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I had this weird idea about a Mapcore mascot, think of like a piano coloured shiny Rayman with a cube for a head and red lens/core as "eye", being the logo as well. His name is obviously Corey...
