Sentura Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 it's well thought out in one sense, but there's a number of things that make it not work: there is no or very little familiarity with the old mapcore logo; basically none of the attributes of the original logo are carried over. second, while abstractions works for a number of different things, they don't work for logos. a logo is an icon; it is made to instantly give people an impression about a brand/company/etc. abstractions will not do this easy, and will leave people confused instead.

egu Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 second, while abstractions works for a number of different things, they don't work for logos. a logo is an icon; it is made to instantly give people an impression about a brand/company/etc. abstractions will not do this easy, and will leave people confused instead. Hmmm, I sorta disagree on that one as logos can also be used to convey feelings or action(?) without resembling any specific form, business or product etc. You could take Nike for example of that. In the end, it's just a swoosh. Oh and not saying that my logo is up the par with Nike logo fyi , this is coming solely from designers point of view. And my deviation from the old mapcore logo and feel was intentional, I think you have enough variations on that one already, couldn't do any better
Buddy Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Ya'll should use the colors of normals for the cube

Zyn Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Updated my idea, plus just some various sizes of it (simple scaling, go go go!) ... ok I know the rounded corners are wrong:
Tailgunner Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 a level layout? :S But it will probably need to be to big to fit on a logo size?
FrieChamp Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 a level layout? :S But it will probably need to be to big to fit on a logo size? That's a cool idea!
