Beck Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Yeah the new series of Walking Dead is amazing, really enjoying it. Last season may have well just been renamed to 'WHATS GOING ON AT THE FARM'. One thing that annoys me about this show is when Rick is shooting stuff. He does this ridiculous arm flail when he fires his pistol to give a sense of recoil. Just looks weird Haha true, though the farm did have some interesting parts Like when they were in that bar and they had that stand off with the bandits (super tense scene that was before they started shooting). I loved the scene where they tried to pull that bloated zombie out of the well, when it split in half was disgustingly beautiful! and of course the barn scene when they freed the zombies to kill them. So it wasn't all bad I don't think But yes, this season so far has been awesome! When Rick embedded his machete into that guys skull... just awesome Awesome film though, aside from Joseph Gordon-Levitt's distracting eyebrows. ಠ_ಠ Haha yes! I did notice how big and bushy they were. Why were they like that?! Edited October 26, 2012 by Beck Quote
PogoP Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Yeah it was good, but just pales in comparison to this series. There's something very mysterious about the prison, and it just gives a real fresh feel to the series. I wonder who that voodoo, ninja, samurai sword-wielding black girl is? And I wanna know how her and Andrea became so close. I imagine they'll do flashbacks to their time together before she got ill. Quote
FrieChamp Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Lots of great shows on at the moment: Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead - all of them (still) good, but Homeland takes the cake. The fact that Brody's cover was blown and he was beginning to realize that gave it a completely new dynamic. I didn't expect that to happen so soon. Now he's captured and I'm wondering what's going to happen next. The show is very fast-paced and unpredictable which I enjoy. It also touches on a very delicate subject. Quote

This show keeps surprising me and it has a bunch of great actors. Quote
D3ads Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) I watched the first part of Derren Brown's Apocalypse; http://www.channel4....es-14/episode-1 I wouldn't usually bother with his stuff but this one had a theme I could identify with so I gave it a go; pretty interesting stuff turning one man's world upside down, but it's hard to tell if it is genuine or staged since you wouldn't know how someone would act in that situation. Although I must admit when Derren just touched him and said something I couldn't catch and he fell asleep, I did kind of think to myself "yeah that's a load of shit.. surely.." [edit]Ok it would seem it is fake... http://www.grumpymiddleagedman.co.uk/2012/10/27/derren-browns-apocalypse-fake-is-steve-brosnan-as-actor/ The bottle thing is especially damning... FrieChamp Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Hilarious! Oh hey - it's that lady from Seinfeld! Quote
Puddy Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 I am getting serious Day of the Dead vibes from The Walking Dead now. In a good way! Is it just me or did the series start out as a quasi-realistic 28 Days Later style but is now becoming more and more and more like an old school zombie flick? What with all the villains, the pretty extreme characters (katana-girl for example), gratuitous zombie kills etc... Quote
Evert Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Is S02 and S03 of walking dead any good compared to the first one? I hated the last 8 episodes of the first season, so I never bothered with S02. Quote
Puddy Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Dunno what you watched, season 1 has 6 eps. Overall, I think Season 2 is better, and Season 3 is the best so far. Quote
Evert Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Lol oh well, those 4 last episodes felt like 8 anyways. Quote
Sprony Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Watched episode 3 today. Great season so far. I really like where there going with this. Quote
Beck Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 (edited) Watched episode 3 today. Great season so far. I really like where there going with this. Pretty much this. ***Some spoilers for the comics in here too*** I like the Governor, I think they've nailed his character. Now let's just see how dark/evil they'll make him. I really hope they bring his zombie daughter into the picture. That pilots head was in one of the tanks at the end, hopefully his body has been fed to his daughter. I doubt they'd go down the rape/torture route. The ambush scene on the soldiers was the only part that annoyed me, they put up no fight. I know it was an ambush but not one of them reacted. I wonder what part Daryl's brother will play. He no doubt wants revenge on Rick, maybe he will be the one to chop off Ricks hand as some kind of retribution for handcuffing him to the roof? That's if they actually chop off Ricks hand. I've just bought The Walking Dead Compendium 2 on Amazon. REALLY looking forward to seeing where the comics go next! Edited October 30, 2012 by Beck Quote
Sprony Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Dude, I thought the spoiler tag was to hide this season's information. Apparently the stuff you mentioned all happend in the comics. Fuck! It's not your fault though, I made my own assumption. But since were there: I got this strong feeling at the end of the last episode that his family was still alive and probably zombified. I thougth that he was visiting them in the room. Didn't expect the heads. Quote
Beck Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Ahh crap, sorry man! I'll make it clear from now on >_< Feel bad now! Quote
