i just dont like humphry bogart i guess ...

there is this podcast i used to listen to: "the creative screen writing magazine podcast "

one of the screen writers they had as a guest (cant remember who anymore) was telling this hilarious story about how he met some stone old producer hollywood legend dude that worked on casablanca and he asked him:

how did it feel during production (of casablanca) knowing that you are working on something special something important and influential that people will remember forever ?

his respond: i dont remember the production at all we made like 50 movies that year. its like throwing spaghetti at the wall some stuff will stick and others wont.

and thats exactly how i feel about that movie its popularity is purely "chance".

I can only recommend not to skip the films on Warby's list. Some of them are amongst the finest films in cinema history. Obviously not everybody appreciates film as an art form but if you do go for it and enjoy watching them.

Just finished 24 Season 7... almost at the finish line.

Yeap, one more to go. Season 8 is pretty good, you'll enjoy it! :)

I can't wait for the movie now, since Season 9 was canceled to give place to a movie.

I understand what you mean, but that comes off a bit arrogant/dickish. Everyone has different taste in art, and there is no right or wrong - if you appreciate Biodome more than Casablanca, there isn't a thing wrong with that, and there is nothing to say either one is "more art" than the other - other than popular opinion. IMO, popular opinion is only good as a decision-making tool to what movies you should spend your time watching, not to what is "good art" and "bad art". Both are an attempt to invoke an emotional response from the viewer, the very definition of art, and if Biodome invokes more of the desired response in a person, well I'd say Biodome is more successful than Casablanca as an art piece for that particular person.

For example, I dislike 2001: A Space Odyssey (and I love Kubrick!); I can appreciate the beauty of the shots, but in the end it just creates almost no emotional response from me. Clearly I am in the minority, but I'm okay with that!

If they were going to do a Season 9 or a movie then why is 8 called "The Final season"? Everything I've been led to understand is that Season 8 wraps everything up.. guess I'll find out.

I watched "Knowing" yesterday... the film was ok up until that shitfuck ending... aliens and the garden of Eden..? What the FUCK?!
