FMPONE Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Bought the deluxe edition, don't think I've ever actually done that with a game before. Excited to peep the art book. -HP- and Bunglo 1 1 Quote
Bunglo Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Thought about doing the same but I have a feeling I'll most likely buy the physical art book when it comes out FMPONE 1 Quote
dux Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 I still don't get the hype behind this and Dark Souls I tried Dark Souls and got bored within an hour. Tried that gothic Dark Souls game Bloodborne on ps4 at 30fps and quit within an hour. blackdog 1 Quote

Tried that gothic Dark Souls game Bloodborne on ps4 at 30fps and quit within an hour. I have literally never played a Souls game. It's hard to explain why, I guess I felt the gist of what the experience would be was kind of made clear by gifs people posted of them dying, a lot, in seemingly extremely lame ways. The combat loop and combat progression seemed to be the focus, which is fine, but it's sort of Capcomy (if that makes sense) and grindy... learn the boss patterns after dying 1000 times. It's hard for me to get excited about that level of tedious work. This, on the other hand, looks like it's going to add a Breath of the Wild type of experience on top of those raw fundamentals, with a greater emphasis on story right off the bat. I can get excited about a dark Breath of the Wild. Plus the graphics are excellent this time. I am still a little concerned that I will not enjoy dying to the same boss 1000 times. tomm Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 dark souls isn't all just boss fights and dying, it has great world building and it's enjoyable to just take your time and explore the world which is nicely interconnected. Coop is a ton of fun too. you guys missed out on a game that showcases great level design Radu, AlexM and Mr.Yeah! 3 Quote
Vilham Posted February 11, 2022 Report Posted February 11, 2022 Yep, some of the best world/level design in any game. There is no game world that is as complex and yet has such good interconnections for quick movement around the map. DS2 and DS3 pale in comparison. Radu 1 Quote
Bunglo Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 I had a huge boner while watching this and it remained as such for sometime after. Radu 1 Quote

Beck Posted February 22, 2022 Report Posted February 22, 2022 Never really played a souls-like game but this one has really got me interested. I think I just prefer how it looks more open world and has a few more mechanics like crafting and stealth over other DS games. Beat the first boss in DS3 once but kinda got overwhelmed by all the stats etc when levelling up I just put it down and never went back. This just looks really good though so I'm really tempted. Invasions are fun both ways, and co op is a great way to preview and practice areas/bosses without much risk. But you have to play it around release or a sale because that's when the world really comes alive. Quote
