Also, wtf I had no idea you could reverse the item upgrades? I have the samurai sword. it's pretty cool but I've upgraded it to +10 and although bloody slash is awesome, it's a rock bottom low starting point type of item

Upgrading spirits makes a difference, for sure, but it's not as crazy as I would have hoped. The upgraded wolfs have won me a few fights for sure.

I'm also instituting strict limits on how much I can play this game, because holy shit it's too amazingly addictive. It's all consuming for me this week.

I'm still using the starting estoc although I JUST switched to a blood type katana and it's doing about double the damage at +4 that the estoc does at +10 (although it's somber upgrades so not directly comparable). I need to shop around and try some more stuff.

One weird thing that happend last night. I've been stuck on a certain boss for about 3-4 nights now, every time after a few tries I go elsewhere to level up etc. Well something I did must have affected the world state because after beating some bosses elsewhere the boss I was stuck on disappeared and was replaced with... some kind of festival. wat?

So I just found out that the scaling in Elden Ring is different than the previous games, the biggest gains are from 30-40 now. So It sounds like having vigor at 40 is more than double the life bonus of having vigor at 20. I have a respec item which i'm holding off on using but when I do I plan to put more into vigor. It's getting to the point where my character is getting one-shotted by regular enemies in the far north.

Radahn was actually really fun when I found out about the summons. Jesus! Christ! what a memorable boss fight. This one was one for the ages.

Ok the patch that fixed arcane scaling is fairly nuts. Rivers of blood special is pretty crazy since bleed procs go through shields!

I'm now like 130 hours in and still haven't beaten the game although I now have the option.

I took a break at Maliketh since it was basically just impossible for my build despite being at 99 str and level 150 or something. Farum Azula was just a chore to get through and I reached Malenia and saw the end-game levels so mostly just got sick of losing so much productivity to the game.

I'll probably go back and finish it later this year, but it's hard to say. Definitely got my moneys worth

whoo boy you aren't lying. I'm WAY behind on a bunch of projects because of this game :X

It's currently taken the crown from UMVC3 as a video game I only plan to play for an hour at a time then find the entire day is gone when said hour is complete

Yes! But it’s challenging. You have to be able to accept a certain level of frustration to enjoy it.
