JAL Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Hah Mino that's awesome, I like a good texture with a "hidden" joke in it. Quote
PhilipK Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 not a bad normal reflex. but the details are quite unevenly distributed and it's like the stones are made of different materials really, however in the diffuse it seems to be all same. The second last stone (from top) has a lot more small details than the rest. Also it seems pretty smooth. But it's nice to see normals with some more depth. Quote
hydeph Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 nah it looks kewl like that, not every brick gets broken when the building is ruined, only some i think it looks justright reflex Quote
ReNo Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Its not really a case of bricks getting broken or not, its just that the actual surface texture of each brick is VERY different according to the normal map, which doesn't really make sense when looking at the diffuse. Cracks, chips, etc... can all be distributed unevenly sure (though too unevenly and it's gonna tile pretty badly I'd guess), but the general roughness of these bricks looks really really different, which, I agree with Phil, just seems wierd. Got any shots of this in an engine Reflex (or in a render)? Quote
aevirex Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 update on the texture: oh, and thanks reflex (was macht die kunst?). Quote
TeddyBear Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Indeed, I really like it. A head WIP Quote

TeddyBear Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Thank you all very much For a rough explanation of how it is done you can go two pages back and look at the bottom. For more details I hope to have a tutorial up in a couple of weeks but I can't promise, there's not much additional time on my hands right now. Quote
requiem2d Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 nice one teddy, just shape up that portfolio Quote
