Dennispls Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 Sentura I think you have to see it in action and not base it on bad images that are full of monsters and effects. Sure there is some consistency in terms of color and art. It has to fit the new Diablo style. But while playing Act 5 I never had the feeling It was something I had seen before. Quote
Sentura Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 All I'm saying is that dark, gothic and brooding does not require a single dark blue/green color palette. Act 4 was awesome in terms of color because they dared create something interesting. With this new act, I just can't see how you can justify this because of the new Diablo style. For me, more than anything, it serves to diminish the distinction between the acts more than before. It's a shame, really. Quote
Dennispls Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 I see where you are coming from with the distinction between acts in terms of overal color palette. Act 5 (Westmarch) is geographically not that far from Act 1 (New Tristram) though. The most changes I found were the overal architecture. Especially the cathedral area looked particularly nice (see image below) Quote
Sentura Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 But given the choice to make a completely new act that you could place anywhere in the world of Diablo 3, why choose it to be right next to where act 1 was made? I understand that some merit might have been given to the thought that Westmarch has been a previously unexplored part of the world up until now - but then why wouldn't that be part of act 1 to begin with? It's just stuff like this that baffles me. Quote
Taylor Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Eh, I don't mind if they've tried to ground the location by including some "Act 1" parts, because it stops each act from feeling like a themed Sonic zone, I don't think Pandemonium looks like Westmarch, and each D3 act so far has blown away D2 as far as environment diversity goes. Quote
Sentura Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I beg to differ, D2 had much more environment diversity than this. I don't see what's bad about it being a Sonic themed zone either - I want to see something new every act, not sit in the same thing for yet another act as a player. It's a motivational force to explore, and if I'm just going to be stuck in another act of what looks like the same then that motivation disappears. Quote
-HP- Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Got a couple more keys. first come first served. Sentura and Skjalg 2 Quote

Tisky Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) So i got a beta key, but my Battle.net has not updated, anyone knows how many hours i should give it? :edit: I can install the PTR version, but not create a Crusader or any of the actual beta content. :S Edited December 18, 2013 by Tisky Quote
Minos Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 That's weird. Did you change your region in the battle.net client to the Reaper of souls Beta? (it's in that dropbox on top of the big play/install button) Quote
Tisky Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) I can only choose PTR: Diablo III or the regular regions haha. Dammit. Edited December 18, 2013 by Tisky Quote
