entity Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Awesome work Warby, making sure all the images look right on the geometry must be a pain in the butt Here's a spaceship i'm working on: Quote
Sindwiller Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Damn innovative design. Honestly, never saw a better one. Only the cockpit needs adjustements. I'd suggest to make notchs and attachements at the edges. Wfr, Sindwiller Quote
Spellbinder Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Yeah entity what Sindwiller said! Damn innovative! I think its awsome, cant wait to is it dressed and ready! Quote
Rick_D Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 looks nice but doesn't make a whole lot of sense from an engineering perspective. Quote
Zacker Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I somehow doubt he made the model for engineering purposes:) Quote
Warby Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 made for skybox and will onyl be seen from belowthats why the roof tiles are less highres 3k tris Quote
Zacker Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Windows look kinda wierd, should be darker I think and less blue. In addition you should also remove the shinyness from the upper trim and let the spec map handle that. Quote
st0lve Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I have major problems with seing where your 3k tris went. Post an overlay wire or something. Quote
hessi Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 stolve: the windows are reverse extruded and round -> lots of polies and as you can see those roofstruts are modeled too. and there are quite a few in the scene. those pillars are 3d too. i think its okay. you shouldnt judge polycounts by such a screenshot. the thing that matters is what you will notice ingame and as far as i know you might make some zooms/closeups to this building and warby has surely som LODs with less polygons while not that close to it. i like it warby. i notice you added a trim at the roof to hide the uv cuts. Quote
TomWithTheWeather Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Is it just me or does the UV mapping on the roof tiles seem stretched or, I dont know, weird? Quote
Defrag Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Looks cool. If it's for the skybox, I'd say that 3k tris is excessive, though (considering that the skybox is rendered pretty much all the time) Quote
Zacker Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Looks much better with those changes and when rendered! And yes Tom, I also think the roof tiles look a tad stretched. Quote
Warby Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 hey the first one was also renderd !!! ^^ it just wasnt offline/pre-rendered (the new one isnt either) Quote
