Warby Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 far away from being beautyful, but better than the last renders : WORD huge step in the right direction but still a long way to go Quote

^Slick Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 far away from being beautyful, but better than the last renders : I must admit, cars are one of the sexist things you can model, low or high poly, and in renders its just, porno for geeks. Okay, maybe I shouldn't go that far but, top notch stuff there. Is that a preset scene that you are rendering it in? What program are you using for rendering? EDIT: Oh dear, I appear to have spammed up the front page Quote
Seldoon182 Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 a piece of shit i was working on two weeks ago... This is a old Renault TN6C as a prop model for dods custom maps ! (5900 poly) Needs: - unwrap - skining - lods I already compiled it to test the proportions. Quote
-HP- Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 The geometry seems to be fine, and the smoothing groups are great. Looking forward to see it textured! Quote
dux Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 I'm no modeller - but that sure doesn't look like 5900 polys to me. Quote
Erratic Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 The rear wheels look a bit too high poly in comparison to the rest of the frame. Quote
mjens Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Too many details in some places eg. lights, wheels... Quote
fonfa Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 yup. some unnecessary faces you got there Quote
ifO Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 hrm why? 6000 isn't much and the details are where they should be, wheels should be as round as possible if they are big and will be at the players eye-level, the frame shape is simple but it looks smooth and 'right' and has all the detail it needs. wtf are you guys on about. it's a nice clean mesh. ^Slick Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Well it really depends on what's it's being used for and the environment its in, you could shave off some polys without much, if any quality loss but I'd sad keep it as I'm sure any engine would be able to handle it. Quote
