The problem was that i worked on the background in wrong order. should have started with the normal map first instead of the diffuse. Shouldn't be too hard to combine a new background with the gold thingy because i generated the normal for this on a different layer with a clean background. Quote

keres Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Thanks Chris! I'm probably going to downsize it to a 512px base diffuse and have a detail map of 256px or so. Bonus points for putting the specular in one of the channels instead of using an alpha, too. It's weird, because I am a programmer, but my art workflow is still pretty primitive like for Id Tech 3.
