deceiver Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Yeah, a bit too glossy =P. Other than that, looks real nice, there's that one more darker brown brick standing out though, shows the repetition, you can spot it? Quote
Bunglo Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Thanks deceiver, I know the brick you're talking about. A bit too contrasted compared to the rest, will need to lighten it up a bit. Quote
keres Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 My first 100% handpainted texture, rendered from a 3d model http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip01.jpg http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip02.jpg I know it sucks, and it could really use more love, but crits are certainly welcome nonetheless. I stopped where I did because I didn't want to go all-out just yet. The colors were chosen on-the-fly. Thanks PhilipK for the "Quick 3ds Max Normal Mapping Tutorial"!!! Quote
keres Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 I think my biggest downfall right now is getting paint to look right. http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip03.jpg http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip04.jpg Baking textures is so much fun Quote
keres Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Moar! http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip/01.jpg http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip/02.jpg http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip/03.jpg http://keres.satgnu.net/images/wip/04.jpg Edited: Fixed Quote

Skjalg Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 The vertical tile is a little easy to spot, but great work nontheless Quote
ElectroSheep Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 it's time to train making texture, the first one : i really want to make some set for my portfolio. Breadbird 1 Quote
-HP- Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Too noisy for my taste, I can't even make up what is that supposed to be? Mud? Concrete? Metal? Less is always more, and always study the kind of materials your trying to recreate. Check eat3d texturing dvd, and there's some good gnomon texturing dvd's too. always study your materials and how they behave accordingly to different light! Quote
ElectroSheep Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 So less detail ? Maybe I choose a too high resolution (1024) and yes, it's concrete Quote
e-freak Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 No, it's just that your normal doesn't make any sense and the difuse has random highlights. I'd rather use half the texture size, get rid of the specular and use an additional noise-detail map (at 128²) Quote
ElectroSheep Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Another try for a metal floor now : Quote
