Sprony Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Anyone interested in doing a 4 pack on Steam? It saves 7,50 euro. Yup I went ahead and bought it a couple of days ago. Congratz on the release, Puddy! Can't wait to load it up tonight Yeah, sorry Squad. I've been away a couple of days. Thanks for taking the time to inform me. I hope you have fun! Congrats Puddy! Squad Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 No problem, man. Just buy the game, it's fun! Sprony 1 Quote
PogoP Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Played this at lunch today. It seems very hectic, but a lot of fun! Can't wait to try it again. Quote
Evert Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Played one and a half level at lunch, seems fun! Tailgunner 1 Quote
Algor Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 What maps did you and tailgunner work on? Been loving this, great investment and player abilities this time. Lots of hard and interesting choices on where to invest points and money. The UI is really nice too and has lots of rich information so people don't double up on reviving or other actions. A few annoyances; Crime.net - This is a cool concept but plays out like one of the worst server browsers ever. It has filters but there are two and they are worthless. It would be great to have more filters by difficulty, map, game type, etc. Often when finding a game I want to join, the browser refreshes and everything vanishes and then shuffles around.. very frustrating. Lobby - This often boils down to people dicking around in their inventory or skills (usually the host) and delaying the game. Then people get fed up of waiting and end up leaving for another server. Just wait until half of the players are ready and then do a countdown that forces the game to start. Voice - I can rarely understand what anyone is saying on the mic because all the other audio is so loud in comparison. It would be great if it just turned down the other audio while someone was speaking. Obviously this can be trolled but we can always mute those players. Quote

Definitely the voice volume, I had to turn down the ingame volume to about 5% music, 15% SFX and 100% voice to be able to comfortably hear you Puddy. Some missions are ridiculously harder compared to others, which is fine if the money/exp had been better balanced. I hope you guys have some good tools to track completion times, deaths, etc... So you can balance the missions eventually V-sync is horrible and causes input lag. That's usually the case but I've found it to be really bad in this game :s Other than that I'm pretty hooked, very fun Edited August 15, 2013 by Chimeray Quote
PogoP Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 I'm finding that a lot of the missions are the same, and it's extremely hard to do a stealth run. Sometimes the guards see you for no apparent reason even if you're wearing just a suit and not doing anything suspicious.. So I'm finding it a little samey because it just seems to be 'set up the drill and kill shitloads of guards'. I hope it isn't gonna get boring! I did enjoy the Coke run mission though, that was good fun. Very frantic! Quote
Puddy Posted August 15, 2013 Author Report Posted August 15, 2013 I personally very much agree with your feedback guys! I especially think that the loot/xp reward balancing is way off atm. You can easily complete the Ukrainian Job in 30seconds:ish and get way more XP/money than the 40 minutes or so that it takes to complete Framing Frame. PogoP: I think that stealthing missions efficiently is sort of the "endgame" of PAYDAY2. It requires the right profession skills and a good deal of coordination. Guards can spot your weapons up close, but you can reduce your suspicion level by carrying smaller weapons, wearing more discrete armor or specing the Chameleon skill. At lower levels, the game very much revolves around waiting for a timer and killing a bunch of dudes, but as you level up you get ways of reducing a lot of the downtime (via lockpicking, the portable saw, explosives). Jenn0_Bing Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Been playing the last week (beta too) and really enjoying it. I totally agree scaling rewards is off. It's too tempting to just do Jewelry Store on overkill over and over than it is to play one of the much longer missions. But the longer missions provide a more varied game play experience for sure. I'd also love to be able to have multiple characters, without having to swap save files about. So I can play with other friends of different levels or create builds with the other skill trees. Quote
Puddy Posted August 15, 2013 Author Report Posted August 15, 2013 Anyone else got problems with Steam? Quote
Vilham Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 no, it was fine at lunch today for me. Really enjoying the game, there are a few things I wish you could do though Move hostages, either with the bodybag perk or by ordering them to follow you or something. Being able to barricade or close doors Having some kind of LMG, super high visability, high recoil but loads of ammo and clip size. more options to do things mechanically to disable cameras or radios etc, like fuse boxes or cutting phone lines Chimeray 1 Quote
PogoP Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Which missions did you work on, Puddy? My favourite without a doubt is the Coke escort missions, just did another one at lunch today! How many levels are there? I think I've only played around 5/6, but with lots of different variants. So much potential with this from a level design standpoint... You could have so many different environments! Quote
Zyn Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Please put a large "THIS GUY IS AN ALLY" sign on converted enemies so I don't have to bitch at players again and again not to shoot him. Quote
Algor Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Also you can join a match that is 99% complete and get your full share of the reward for doing nothing. Pretty sweet if you are the one who just joined, but a big exploit Quote
Chimeray Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) Completed a match solo. Went back into CrimeNet and no games show up with people in them, tried creating a match and it says "failed to create game". Eh? :/ Gonna mail out to IT at the office.
