Danielsa Posted July 7 Report Posted July 7 Hey! So good to see you back! Time flies, doesn't it? I felt the same way logging in recently. I'm still kicking around, though life definitely gets in the way sometimes. Been dabbling in game development as a hobby lately. If you're looking for something chill to play in your downtime, give Crazy Cattle 3D a try. It's surprisingly addictive! Glad to know some of the old crew are still lurking. Take care! Quote
blackdog Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 (edited) I can't cope with Discord, you have to be wired in every day in a community to make sense of it. I don't see how a community like this works better there but whatevs. I logged in only to check some old pm for a contact PS: nice new forum skin btw Edited July 9 by blackdog Harry Godden and mjens 2 Quote

Discord is like IRC back in the day, good for quick banter, but with a forum you can build a wealth of knowledge that can be stored and accessed over time. Things in Discord are pretty "disposable", and the different conversations just merge into one another. It's really hard to follow any conversations if the server grows over a few dozen people It has its uses, but in no way it can replace a forum. Also do recruiters even hang out in Discord to find talent? It's much easier to expose your work on a forum. With time people will realize this and come back. I will make an effort to log in more often here, would hate to see the forum that we've had for 25 years or so just die a silent death! Speaking about that... when was Mapcore founded? Did we miss a chance to celebrate the 25th anniversary? That's a quarter of a century.... Edited August 3 by Minos slavikov4, Harry Godden, El Moroes and 2 others 4 1 Quote
marks Posted August 14 Report Posted August 14 I'm pretty sure the only place recruiters hang out is linkedin lol Quote

El Moroes Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Same as Minos said for my part. It's very hard for me to follow everything on Discord...lol, not hard but quite impossible. And because of that, I never (or very very rarely) post something there as it will be quickly lost in the multiple exchanges and conversations living there. Perhaps it's something that, we, as "older", feel more than the younger ones among us. esspho, leplubodeslapin and Minos 2 1 Quote
