What have you watched recently?

First one was definitely annoying to me, too much fake, the motorbike was unbearable.

Also that much action right at the beginning, when you still have to adapt to the 3D, is pretty much not enjoyable.

Got back watching Arrow, the recent and upcoming superhero movies, hype for Batman etc motivated me and I've binged on most of Season 2 now.

Still "too cheap" of a show to be very good, but in terms of story development it's much better. I vaguely read about the Flash crossover, but didn't know that they had The Flash TV show origins setup right into Arrow. Plus they planted the seed for Suicide Squad as well.

blacklist tv show, and it's edgy, predictable and overall terrible.

Ouch, and i was curious to try it.

There are some good episodes but overall the main cast are just terrible. The blacklist guy just comes off as annoying and trying too hard when he's supposed to be a veteran criminal of 20 years. It doesn't make sense. There's too much deus ex machina where they just pull shit out of the plot's ass to make the story make sense. And then there's all the people on the blacklist that could probably be distilled down to people who have 1 or 2 different roles overall. The alchemist episode made me rage hard because of all the factual inaccuracies (and the stupid plot).

But it's like a trainwreck, you can't look away.

I want to catch up with Xfiles as well, I remember at the time of first season i was still too young and my parents were sending me to bed 21:30, plus it wasn't appropriate (I still remember the visual horror of the fungi erupting from throats).

But when I watched episodes of later seasons, I remember it derived very badly in a caricature of itself and that discouraged me.

I'm full of stuff to watch so just waiting they put it in Amazon Prime Video or something.

I needed some time to process what I've just witnessed. I was very skeptical about this movie. But having Miller behind it with Hardy and Theron in the lead, it showed some promise. However, since the first trailer, which I must seen have a dozen times, I was sold. I was hyped. Usually, a movie can't meet those kind of expectations. Fury Road blew those expectations out of the water. This is Miller's magnum opus. A labor of love, crafted into perfection. The story is simple, dialog is almost none existent and still everything is told visually. The devil is in the details. With brilliant simplicity the movie manages to motivate ever character without the need to spell it out for you. You just get it. You understand these people and where they come from and what drives them.

The world itself is completely mad. But however crazy it gets, nothing feels out of place. The action is spectacular and non stop. But unlike, say Transformers, it's not deafening and tiresome. It's well crafted and real with the minimal use of CGI. It's believable no matter how crazy it gets. But most of all, it's perfectly captured. You see what's going on it all it's glory. These 2 hours flew by and left me thirsty for more. It's one of the best action movies I have ever seen and I've seen a lot. It's also rare to see a movie put so well together. I can't remember the last time a movie made it into my top 5. But Max, welcome back!
