-HP- Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 You liked the stupid giant robot? Srsly? Quote
Puddy Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 ":1fef0j7k]You liked the stupid giant robot? Srsly? It moved like a retard, and it's appearance was perhaps a bit too similar to a T800 ( ), but overall I didn't have any problems with it. How so? Quote
Taylor Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I still haven't played this but did you guys seriously expect a good ending after the stupidest ending ever on a videogame (Mass Effect 2)? No, but I didn't expect them to leave everything unexplained and invalidate every choice I’ve made through the entire series, including the one that triggered the ending sequence. Quote
Campaignjunkie Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Just finished it. My thoughts on the ending: A WIZARD DID IT?! Oh well, I enjoyed everything leading up to it though. They really sunk a lot of money into the branching and character animation. Quote
Puddy Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Fuck yeah! Retcon is hopefully incoming... http://blog.bioware.com/2012/03/21/4108/ Co-Founder Ray Muzyka: Building on their research, Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey. We’re working hard to maintain the right balance between the artistic integrity of the original story while addressing the fan feedback we’ve received. HP / Minos: What was so godawful about the me2-ending/robot btw? Quote
Evert Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 I still haven't played this but did you guys seriously expect a good ending after the stupidest ending ever on a videogame (Mass Effect 2)? Lmao so true. ME2 was awesome leading up to it though, and ME3 is awesome so far. Quote
Jake Gilla Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Looks like they're going to change it. I haven't played it yet, but I don't really like the idea of going back and changing the ending. Quote

Jake Gilla Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Sorry, http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/3/2 ... complaints Didn't read it for fear of spoilers. Quote
Puddy Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 And scroll up a bit HP for Bioware's official statement (on which the article is based). While I wish it was so well JakeGilla... the statement has to be interpreted as an indication that they intend to "tweak" the ending. Same ending, just that "they'll explain things better". So, no complete overhaul incoming. Quote
-HP- Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Citing "incredibly painful" fan feedback, BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka says that the Mass Effect 3 team is working to answer more of the trilogy's still-open questions and provide further closure to fans. "Our first instinct is to defend our work and point to the high ratings offered by critics," Muzyka said, "but out of respect to our fans, we need to accept the criticism and feedback with humility." It's unclear whether the content in question will completely rewrite the oft-decried finale, as Muzyka added, "We’re working hard to maintain the right balance between the artistic integrity of the original story while addressing the fan feedback we’ve received." That's nice of them. If I were to bet, they made a shitty ending to make you buy DLC's or whatever. Quote
Taylor Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 I think it’s a catch-22 situation. For DLC to mean anything they kind of have to remove the bit where they undo 3 games worth of decisions, which is a pretty big chunk if they want to not compromise “artistic integrity.” Quote
dux Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 So, this is one to get from the bargain bucket from the sounds of it. *Waits for Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition* Quote
Puddy Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 ":3q8m5vpk] That's nice of them. If I were to bet, they made a shitty ending to make you buy DLC's or whatever. Well, I don't think they intentionally made a bad ending to make you buy DLC. The blowback would be too messy (as we can clearly see). However, the very last thing you see in the campaign, right after the credits, is a stupid and ugly popup box which says "the story of shepurrd is now a legend... prepare to continue the adventure in future DLC!!!". It's possible that they made a ending which they thought was good, yet vague, to allow for future DLC to fill in the gaps. If that's the case, it has clearly backfired. Quote
