Taylor Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Cool. I hope the plot isn't Gurren Lagann this time. Quote
Sentura Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 it was alright, but it kinda diminishes in epicness compared to how epic mass effect 2's ending was. i think it may have had something to do with the opening scene being london and all, and not another city on another planet... also, why do people keep linking gametrailers bullshit? i hate that verification shit all to squeeze some extra pixels into that HD view. fucking stop it already, use youtube. mazy and that chrome guy explained how easy it can be done. Pericolos0 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I was kinda disappointed with mass effect 2, and this trailer really isn't making me too excited. Gritty spacemarine fighting off an alien invasion on dull grey postapocalyptic earth? I really hope theyre not trying to be the new halo. What I loved about mass effect was being a secret agent exploring the galaxy and discovering cool stuff, but it seems bioware is stepping more and more away from that with mass effect . Quote
Taylor Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 It seems perfectly reasonable that the Reapers would attack Earth. Don’t panic. I really like the Mass Effect series but I find the storyline is rather disjointed, To my knowledge they still haven’t explained after two games what the Reapers motivation is. We know they’ve built up countless generations of life based on planted technology and then systematically wiped them out, but we don’t know why they would do this. In the first game you ask the glitching temple AI this question and it says “lol I don’t know but you have to stop them anyway what does it matter” to which Shepard says “lol okay.” And that’s that. In ME2 the abducted human colonists were used to create the human reaper you tried to forget about, but if it’s a convoluted reproduction process that makes no sense either... Unless Reaper activists have convinced Reaper battery farmers that organic material should lead long and fulfilling lives after millions of years of slow gradual evolution before being mangled for parts. Steppenwolf Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I still haven't played ME 2 yet. Was kinda put off when i read they abandoned the rpg stuff (instead of improving it). Also too lazy to import the English version of the game. Quote
Sentura Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 the point behind the reaper's doing shit every 50 million years or however much it was, was that they'd absorb all the technology that has been made. i'm guessing they have 1 reaper for every species they've wiped out. Quote
Taylor Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Did they show an interest in technology? If I remember right all the advanced technology you have was planted by the Reapers anyway, to make sure life progressed the way they wanted. They built the mass relays, the citadel, and put the artefacts on places like Mars for you to find. They need organic material to make more Reapers, but they all have the same cuttlefish design except the human larva you blow up. Well, I’m sure some of it ties together but it feels kind of loose.
