Furyo Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 meh, might get one. Need to see about my connections there to get a discount, that's just too expensive still. Quote
-HP- Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 How much will it cost? Is there a price out yet? Quote
Ginger Lord Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 $199 apparantly. Allthough Apple say thats the price it will be in most countries, I wouldnt be surprised if it turned out to be £199 here. Quote
-HP- Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Wtf?! How can it be so cheap?! As far as I've been told, a final price is going to be announced tomorow i guess. Quote
Thrik Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah, that's a good price even if it's £199. Doesn't seem particularly atypical of what prices you see slapped on similarly equipped Motorola/Nokia/LG/Samsung phones. Not so keen on the crappy camera, though. I think that'll keep me away from it. Quote
Skjalg Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Maybe the parts they are buying is cheap because of the low dollar value.. But that doesn't make sense when you look at it the other way... Quote
curman Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Skdr, I really hope you don't visit www.appleinsider.com Worst. Apple. Websites. Ever. Plain and simple. They have absolutely no credibility or sources to their posts, and most of it are spoofs, rumors, or mock-up photoshops some user did as a joke to fool them. They are rarely put a post up that is actually true. Back in November 2007 they were going, "New Macbook Pros this tuesday!!". Those continued through December, Jan, Feb, and finally then they released it. It was such a laugh how they just guessed the date over and over. I wouldn't rely on them to tell any unreleased secrets about Apple products. Quote

-HP- Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Anyone got it? Damn, I saw some folks with it, and I really, really, really, fucking really want this phone! But 500€ is a lot of money, for me at least, lol. Quote
Mazy Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Was at the midnight opening, mainly as moral support for my brother although I'd also get one. However, after standing in the queue for about 3 hours a guy from the store walks past people while saying that they're sold out on all 16GB Black ones. No chance in hell I'm going for White or 8GB Anyway, I can wait (they're sold out everywhere atm), and my brother got his earlier today so its all good~ Quote
Punky Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 God, I always get so jealous when I see people having like 3 of the newest Imac's in their office or have an Iphone or something, but then again, I think why would I need one, I only use my phone for calling and text messaging, why would I buy an expensive Iphone? //pessimism It looks sexy though, and all the awesome features included in the Iphone make me go: Quote
Izuno Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Oh what a surprise... Like all Apple products, they fuck over the early adopters. Nothing about the iPhone appeals to me, doubt I'll ever pick one up. Used one in an Apple store and found the keyboard a pain to use (don't even have fat hands) and was greasy and smeary as fuck. Left my portfolio site on the browser though RAAAAWWWWRRRR !!! they may take GL's life but they'll never sell him Apple!!!! Seriously, I do want one...but the damn virtual keyboard. I have played with my cousins iPhone a lot and i can't get used to it. i love my Treo's calendar (Palm OS) but internet on a Treo = lose. I could just get a Crackberry... Quote
Seldoon182 Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Firmware updated ! Waiting the new tut to Jailbreak one more time my iPhone ! Quote
e-freak Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Yes Izuno - I use a Palm as well and they are best thing ever but damn theyr networking capabilities is worse than anything :S Quote
ShaDoW Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Living in Belgium, the iPhone is a pretty weird situation. I still have the first generation iPhone which a friend imported to me from the U.S., personally I'm not sure I want to switch to the new ones. The first generation still looks better to me and a lot more sturdy, the 3G version looks a bit too glossy to my taste and even easier to scratch and smudge. Then again I haven't actually seen a 3G up close so I could be totally wrong about this. The black ones are pretty sexy though I admit wholeheartedly. GPS would also be a nice addition to my iPhone... The weird thing is that sales tying is illegal here in Belgium. Tying for example is selling a phone along with a contract. So the Belgian iPhones will be sim lock free (which is awesome). Yet on the other hand, stores are actually trying to sell the iPhone with a Mobistar contract. I'm not sure how they're doing it but if I go pick up a new 3G iPhone and they try to hook me up with a sleazy contract I'm going to throw a fit to be sure. Apple partnering up with the Mobistar network was a really stupid move. The only reason being that Mobistar is part of the Orange network in Europe. Funny thing about that partnership is that Mobistar barely has the 3G network up and running while all the other cellphone carriers do support it. Now I play the waiting game for the 2.0 jailbreak! Super Monkey Ball get~! ^^ Quote
