  1. Yeah, we jsut had the exact same experience tonight as well Defrag, and the server we settled for in the end eventually went down with the strain. Very uninspiring game for all concerned.

    Banksy

It's not quite as cut and dry as that. It's really down to who's item he's graffitied. A lot of his pieces on private property are kept now because they put the price up, but most pieces on public property are removed apart form some rare cases. I went to see his show in Bristol this summer, 3 hour queue to get in but it was well worth it.
  3. Yeah, I've been following this on your blog too. Simply stunning stuff, especially for source.
  4. Wow, nice stuff guys. Congrats.
  5. Definitely agree with this, I've completed the whole Demo with just the machete, i did loose more health than my friends who were playing, but i got 30% more kills id say. I think they're overpowered because Valve has bigged them up as such a new feature so if they were not very useful some group of people would have complained.
  6. I've seen two 3D films with a mate who has prescription glasses, and he hasn't had any major problems/discomfort. They're fairly big so they sit on top of them OK.

    Bioshock 2!

Bioshock is probably one of my favourite first 1-3 hours of a game ever though. The opening and the decent to rapture was great, and learning all the mechanics through this period was exciting. But after those first few hours the game seemed to run out of new things to throw at you, apart from new environments to effectively do the same thing as the last one in. I kept playing because i found the world engaging, i jsut don't think the actual game play didn't update itself as well as the environment art. That being said, Bioshock is still one of the few games I've managed to finish almost in one go without a break in between, somethign kept pulling me back to it. I jsut don't think I'm ready to do it all over again, unless number 2 offers some significant new game play features. Bioshock is still one of my favourite games just for the world it's created within. Same with STALKER really, gameplay wise it stagnates pretty quickly, but it's the environment that carries me through those games. Better than games like Far Cry 2, where both the gameplay (which isn't even as complex to begin with) AND the art just repeat themselves.

    Bioshock 2!

He's not saying "Don't play it because it looks the same." He's saying "I didn't enjoy the first game, and as this looks the same i probably wont enjoy this." I have similar feelings, I'll definitely try this but there are other games my money is prioritised for at the moment.
  9. I'm planning on entering this year, time permitting. I have a few ideas floating around in my noggin, finding it hard to think of something that isn't a cliche though.
  10. Also, match the colour of your fog to that of the skybox texture. Should help your tree-line soem just doing that.

    Singularity

This looks like Wolfenstein with soviets to me, which i cant really see as a bad thing. I'm lookign forward to it, but I'm not holding my breath and waiting for the reviews.
  12. Yeah, i saw the trailer before Public Enemies, seemed to drop off the radar after that though. I am lookign forward to it, really digg the atmosphere in it, reminded me of a different take on Arkham.
  13. Ooooh, sounds fun, id love to get my hands on that. Finished this yesterday, been chipping away at it a bit at a time. Really enjoyed it overall, i died more times in that final fight than in the whole of the game though probably.
  14. Yeah, kickass ship.
  15. Mmmmmm, warhounds... I'd agree it's a bit dark though. The hazard stripes are also quite distracting, maybe make the stripes wider and less contrasty.
  16. Was browsing through the chairs posted so far a couple of days ago, this is easily better than the ones i saw then.
  17. That drill looks awesome, nice work .
  18. I'm not sure if they count towards the entity limit, i do know they impact rad compile time because they are not particularly efficient with placement sometimes.
  19. Light entities are the only way as far as I'm aware. Editing the texture to look like it has bulbs behind the sign might help the illusion.
  20. Yeah, this is probably my most anticipated L4D campaign. Loving the atmosphere thats already there, even with the early work.
  21. Those stills look like they're from some low-budget TV drama.
  22. Ive always been able blend the images properly, but i just cant ever focus them, 3D blurry blobs woooo !

    RAGE

The definition in the natural textures is really impressive, there's so much detail in those rock walls. The man made surfaces don't look any more impressive than other engines though.
  24. I'm loving the look of this level so far, the idea of making it rundown and weathered is also cool. As people have already said, i really dig the style of the tunnel. If you want some good references, which i think almost fit the style you already have going perfectly, try here http://www.ngte.co.uk/buildings/index.htm there's more detailed pics in some of the sections.
  25. Is it possible to make a prop that can gib but the gibs or a gib are static are static. What i want is a wall mounted TV that when shot gibs, but i need the body of the TV to stay stationary on the wall. I don't know if this is possible in hammer, but Ive tried some different things in compiling the prop that haven't worked. Any help would be appreciated. Even if it's just a clear no.
