  1. I totally agree with peoples comparisons to STALKER, this is packed with atmosphere, awesome work.
  2. This is very cool, and a tutorial on a nature/rock set would be absolutely awesome.
  3. Hmm, I never actually thought of that/really noticed but it's the same for me.
  4. Those last two shots look awesome. Colour do with a little more colour contrast though, even if it was just in the light.
  5. Wow, those screen shots knocked my socks off.
  6. It's coming together really nicely Minos. The lighting in that first shot is great.
  7. Loads of good shots all over Europe on this site: http://www.kto-to.de/ Do you think it would be possible to get the links sorted and categorised in the first post? The problem I've always found with these kinds of threads is by the time you get to a few pages it's enough effort to find the links you need in the first place, as it is to find good references.
  8. Another sporadic update. Been working on another concept, only really like the foreground in this though, decided i was taking too long working it over and have started roughing the scene out in hammer. Should be able to start getting the assets for this together soon.
  9. 3Dnj: Loving the scene, the bloom around the lights looks a little odd though, there's quite a contrast between the brightness of the bloom and the bulbs. Mino: Those texture really benefit from the lighting in the scene, it's all looking great.
  10. Whew, there's too many things I like about that trailer to list. Seriously pumped now. It is definitely a little too yellow, seeing as both Deus Ex 1&2 were predominately blue, I expect they've chosen that to set them apart.
  11. Sweet been looking forward to this! Downloading now, will play through a bit later.
  12. Map looks great, the announcer was also less annoying in that video, think it might have been the fact there was none of awkward the swearing with no purpose the other videos had.

    Killzone 3

    Someone buy me a PS3 .
  14. No because you'd then have to manually position all the verts on the outer curve. Looking good Mino's, cant wait to see it with some more detail, I'd like to know the spaces purpose , it reminds me a bit of Fallout3 at the moment.
  15. I envisioned what you saw as a panel, as just a rectangle of trim attached to the wood, but i can see what you mean now, might be better separated out more.
  16. I have indeed been looking forward to this, nice work on the visuals, cant wait to find out about the game play.
  17. It might just be perspective, but that fallen trunk looks a lot thicker than any of the standing trees. Great work on this forest overall, looks good enough to take a stroll in.
  18. Well, a bit of a gap, been finishing off all my assignments for the year. They're done now which means plenty more time to work on this. First of thanks for those tips on the Humber Minos, I plan on detailing the back with some props a bit like the survivor dens in L4D. I'm undecided on adding some decals, I could do but it would mean a third texture map on the model which seems a little excessive, I'd be able to write some text on the outside though which would be a nice touch. I also added the wear and tear to the front, and the outside has a normal and specular on it now. And here's a bit of a photo montage I've been scrubbing together to get an overall feel of how I'd like this thing to feel. I'm gonna work on this, and maybe do a couple of others over the next few days to decide where I'm gonna head with this.
  19. Wow, this has come a really long way since you last showed it. Much better overall atmosphere. I agree the rocks could do with some loving, even your mountains in the background aren't particularly pointy.
  20. I love it, tells a nice story. I might be reading it wrong though, but the piece he's putting glue on in the last frame is way too big for the rest of the pot.
  21. I certainly enjoyed Planet Terror, I'm looking forward to this one too. It's another film where everyone seems to be involved purely because they're having a good time.
  22. It's meant to be the Stark expo. Also those space elevators are still there, they have rings of white lights and red beacons on the top.
  23. Hey, hope you don't mind but I did some work over the top of your texture. Your off to a solid start, I know you want it to be clean but don't be afraid to add a little grime, unless it's 100% brand new or in a lab clean room it's going to get scuffed and a little dirty. Most of what I have done is just overlay some slight grunge layers to add some colour variation, they are mostly on overlay blend mode with 10-30% opacity. I included some seams in the paper, and added some wood panels to the area of the bottom to sell the construction of the wall. The trim along the top is just a personal thing, and increased the contrast between the trim and the wood panels. I can send you the .psd if you want, drop me a line next time your on msn.
  24. Looks good, I really like the design. I think you could have shaved off a lot more triangles from the rear tires, they seem ridiculously high. And then with those saved triangles you could have included some of the textured detail in the actual mesh, like the rear windows.
  25. Wow, congrats again . The new King's looking great as well, looking forward to playing this again in it's new incarnation.
