von*ferret Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 I think that his architecture works so well to make all the areas unique and detailed that the buildings do not seem so repeptitive. If he only threw in one new building texture set though, the fact they repeat so much might get more noticable. Dunno ifyou understand what I'm trying to say. Quote
RD Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 looks exquisite, but maybe the areas r a bit cramped. It culd use some grossere raumen, more weltraum for bigger angriffen!!! Quote
Sa74n Posted August 19, 2004 Author Report Posted August 19, 2004 the map IS quite cramped. lots of things to use as cover, so you cant sniper someone who's miles away. it's supposed to be a fast paced map because i like quick'n nasty shootouts. the bombspots are a bit bigger though and ofcourse also have things to hide behind. Grin Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 OMG this lux great! I'm starting to get sad that hl2 with the new source engine is coming out, sorta crushes this half-life mapping scene, and we can't go "omg this lux great!" for a map anymore Quote

It's not like we penalise him for not having bump-mapping, 2048x2048 textures and physics objects. Quote

My point is, that prolly ~everybody will start mapping for the new source engine, and wery few people will use a huge effort for making the maps for the original hl engine anymore. Quote
Sa74n Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 yea because putting huge effort in making source engine maps will be much more fun because you have less limits and more freedom in designing your maps. Quote

HL1 has had a superb innings of 5 or 6 years, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Quote
