Minos Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Looks nice, but I need more pix to be impressed ... btw, I'm not a fan of that sunflare actually, I mean, it looks good on this shot, but I'm sure it will look gay if u'r near it (like in cs_costabrava). Just my opinion Quote

Sa74n Posted August 13, 2004 Author Report Posted August 13, 2004 mroe shots will be posted later on. dont worry. i need some help: , is there a way to have an entity (like a huge pillar/tower/whatever) to be seen all over the map ? even from one skybox to another. Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Looking great! Yes I suppose it's possible. Try combining the entity with other brushbased entities around the map in order to make the engine draw it under all circumstances. Quote
FrieChamp Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 heh yea, that's a way to convert something annoying to a useful feature. After a certain count of brushes tied together to one entity, it is rendered from every point of your map. The downside is that this might affect the performance of your map significantly. Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 It's not really a problem. Ya just place a nulled brush based entity in all the areas from which you want to spot the tower. This way the engine will only draw the tower when one of the entities isn't vis blocked. Quote
Minos Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 oh guys... You can model it satan. Just model a big shit, but the joint has to be inside the map, and then it doesnt matter if the model is outside the skybox/grid. Just like zyndrone made on his de_sandstorm with that huge pyramid. Quote
Sa74n Posted August 13, 2004 Author Report Posted August 13, 2004 nah.. modelling isnt a good solution. a) i'm talking about a church which is placed in an area you can actually reach b) it uses quite a bunch of textures (and models use 512² max) c) the shadowing of models sux0rs and they dont cast shadows anyway.. thanks guys! new pix0rz s00n Quote
