Mapcore Meetup 2015

We've talked about it before, your paths cross regularly while travelling the globe and visiting events, we also tried London this year but none of it was ever done officially on a large scale. I want to change that by trying to organize the first official Mapcore Meetup. This is of course quite a feat since we are spread out all over the globe. We're also not millionaires that can grab their jets and fly over. So logically not everyone can attend. That's why, if this is successful, I suggest we have every meetup organized by someone else in a different place. This way we'll eventually all get a chance to get together. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. 

 

So since I'm going first here's what I have in mind:

 

Date: A Saturday/Sunday in the Summer of 2015

Location: The Hague - Netherlands

Activities: Dinner, drinking and more drinking. Remember, this is Holland, I can take it as far as you want it to go.

 

I'm going to take that entire weekend off to accommodate people as much as I can. If people are flying in we could try and schedule the arrival times a bit. I'll pick you guys up from Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. No need for public transportation that way or additional costs. People coming it with the train are already in the center of The Hague so that's not a problem. 

 

My wife works as an Assistant Manager in a very nice hotel in the center of The Hague. I can hook people up who are spending the night. She can also arrange discounts for you all. That doesn't mean it's cheapest option for you. Feel free to go somewhere else if you desire so. There's no commission in it for us, it actually costs us money

 

When all is done I can drive people back to the airport on Sunday and wave them goodbye.

 

Please, discuss this suggestion! Also for the record, if Thrik attends, he promised me beer, you are now my witnesses!

Well I'm pretty close, I might be able to. Might try planning summer holidays in February, so I could have an idea of how to plan for this.

Wish we could still do a UK meetup at least… several people are from around London.

Could quite easily grab a flight from UK to Holland so I'll try my best to make it, dates pending.
