What's the deal with the thief guy anyway, is he really just an asshole thief? It might seem petty but I like to be able to empathise with characters I play as and somewhat believe in what they're doing. All the media thus far makes out this is some violent dude who robs people, like I'm meant to find that really awesome or something. Quote

dux Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 It just doesn't feel like Thief. It looks liked an undercover Dishonoured, right down to how the camera bobs around when you climb up walls. Don't like new Garret. Not keen on the voices of the guards, they're just generic guys now. Where's benny? I didn't even hear taffer in that trailer. I don't like the hands all up in the face, takes away the immersion for me and just reminds me of Dishonoured more - things bobbing up in my face distracts me. What's this shadow blink stuff and seeing guards through walls? Again I feel like I'm watching Dishonoured. Dishonoured 2: Thief 4. Quote

Hopefully there'll be plenty more to the Thief guy than the trailer made out, but it didn't do a very good job of making me want to play as him. I guess I'm a sucker for the fantasy of being a hero. Steppenwolf Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) Game looks good enough but don't like what i saw in the gameplay. The small fov+vignette gonna be annoying as fuck. Need to see whats going on around you as thief. Was hoping with the power of the new consoles this super small fov fad would be over... No third person view either, right? Well that just sucks. Makes environment feel so cramped. It seems to suffer from the same problem that Thief 3 suffered from: It's Thief but in a compressed, claustrophobic form and even more so without third person.
