Many people will be buying the game just now for the competition. Don't let that discourage you! Unless you're just not interested in the theme.

Appreciate it, but am a little bit tied up mapping in UE4 right now - although I do love the thematics of it.

It's one of those "might have the time" things, whereas I believe this game deserves a full-on devotion to be successful.

Oh, my skills on Source SDK are rather weak, :) also.

Found a real ww2 battle that would be great for this contest, will have to work hard to get it together though.

By the way, are we replacing the UT contest thread for this one soon?

@MapCore can we have a sticky Discussion Thread or Subforum like for the Unreal Tournament contest? It would be helpful to talk to others since the tools for DoI seem sparsly documented.

On it!

I just tested it on my side, and it works fine for me. Try to validate your doi files on steam.

Same thing is happpening...

So it seems like the problem only appears when you double click prop in 3d view and then open the model browser.

Ok. I don't really know what is causing the problem but its gone now...

Good to see you are all so eager. Contest forum is up. There are two threads. You can discuss the contest here and post your WIP shots/give feedback here. The rest of the forum is locked for new threads, since our partner Gamebanana will be handling the submissions. If you have questions which you would like to ask in private, please send me or @FMPONE a pm.

PS: A new Day of Infamy header will go up later today/tomorrow.

@Sprony Since you made the former thread read only...

To enter simply create either a development blog / work in progress page OR a level design tutorial / guide for Day of Infamy on either GameBanana, MapCore or the Insurgency Forums.

Can't really do any of this on mapcore if we can't do new threads. Might want to change the wording and remove mapcore.

One of the projects I worked on after I made de_austria.

Yeah, I know the timing is really bad (CS2!), but can't change it... 🙁

In general a lot went wrong during this project. Had a lot of problems with the layout, but I think I found a good compromise in the end. Also learned many new things. Maybe I would even be ready to create a really good map now after all, but I think that it's gonna be the final one. I really like making maps, but it has become too time consuming over the years for just being a hobby. Unfortunately I never managed to get a job in the games industry. So that's it. I hope it's a worthy ending of 20 years of making maps for me. 🙂

Shore is a bomb defusal map for CS:GO that takes place on Lofoten Islands, Norway. (Also have a Hostage version of this that works well imo)
