kleinluka Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 would be perfect for a swimming pool nice Quote
Evert Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Make it darker tho, so it looks like the original. Quote
Tisky Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Ye maybe it should be darker.. il look into that later, gotta clean the apartment. Quote
Tequila Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 would be perfect for a swimming pool nice I'm betting it will also match well with HL2's refracting crazy water. Quote
Tisky Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 dont know what you mean with that tequila, but it sounds great. Quote
Term Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 What he means is those fancy water ripple effects HL2 sports... I'm not sure though if a water texture for HL2 would still require ripples in itself or if they would just be added by an env/cube/bump/whatever-map? However, for the use with HL1 you would really need to darken the texture since all water planes in HL are fullbright, meaning that your water will likely glow like nuclear radiation. But then the texture should rock, nice work (and tiling as well)! Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Sorry to disappoint you but if I recall the "pics of yourself" thread was ~18 pages, that means you busy bees will have to collect a couple of more textures to make it the longest Edit: It's exactly "15" pages long. Because someone locked my thread~ :/ Quote
Tisky Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 First the water, more darkened: Then: Well. the last one is foobar tiled but i dont have time for more even tho this is really fun! Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 The second one is too blurry. Quote
Phlek Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Let me give this a shot here: Original 512 x 512 Now back to find some more! BTW I used OL's new vent for the bottom of mine. EDIT: Did this one real quick: Original 96x128 512x512 Quote
mikezilla Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 it looks good and you matched the colors quite nicely those scratches on the metal one might look weird tiled over though I think. Quote
zaphod Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 yea it looks kinda blurry like you scaled up parts of the original texture. the water shader in hl2 does not use any actual texture. It only uses an animated refraction map. Quote
Tequila Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 the water shader in hl2 does not use any actual texture. It only uses an animated refraction map. But you can have different types, right? Water that is clear as day and then water that is perhaps muddy? Quote
kleinluka Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 agreed about colors. looks nice. you should try using a sharper brush to define edges and highlights Quote
