Taylor Swift Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Here in the Netherlands we have a show that reunites people that lost contact. Mostly lovers but still, there should be something similar on a larger scale. I think it's about time we sign these two up yeah ! Sprony 1 Quote
Jaayu28 Posted January 24, 2015 Report Posted January 24, 2015 We can give i.e. Neil's phone number ( few posts up ) to Einar Quote
Sentura Posted January 24, 2015 Report Posted January 24, 2015 I saw a rumor at the Valve wiki that Neil might be dead, or at least very ill... Quote
blackdog Posted January 24, 2015 Report Posted January 24, 2015 Yeah I remember the rumours of a serious illness Quote
Jaayu28 Posted January 25, 2015 Report Posted January 25, 2015 Nope. At page 4 i posted a screenshot of my conversation with Tad Goddard, he told me that Neil is all OK. Quote
Mainstream Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 Even if Neil und Einar want to continue their work they propably need to rework nearly everything to bring it to modern standards (if they want a commercial success). Maybe they would even need to switch to another engine. I really don't want to be pessimistic, but I don't see this happening. Quote
Buddy Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 In hindsight I'm pretty happy that the game wasnt released at all to be honest. The "60% done version of the game" we got to see wasn't fun to play at all. Levels were built without any gameplay testing and there was no flexibility with the project's direction. Sentura 1 Quote
robert.briscoe Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 Buddy is totally correct, I also worked on the project for a while at the same time as him and it really wasn't fun Buddy and Sentura 2 Quote
dux Posted February 6, 2015 Author Report Posted February 6, 2015 Why was that the case considering the experience gained for the first? Quote
FMPONE Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 I'm with Dux, it's a little surprising to hear it wasn't much fun. Quote
Jaayu28 Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 Yeah. Bit suprising when you consider their work on the previous They Hunger Trilogy and years of working on THLS. Quote
Jaayu28 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 But still, I would play crap out of the " 60% done " version. Quote
Thrik Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Perhaps the same reason that led to the project's demise: waning interest and passion from the designer, compounded by there being higher technical expectations and a need to delegate the work to others, making it much harder to keep refining/experimenting compared to HL1 and its rich scene of one-man-band single-player mods. Just a guess, though! Jaayu28 1 Quote
