Vilham Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Yes, but those aren't the same as DS1, in DS1 those slashing walls were the same as these fake walls, not the stone thingy walls. Quote
Warby Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 right no ghost faces in ds1 ... now i remember ... Quote
Rick_D Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 got to the first bonfire in sen's fortress with zero deaths. get on my level. just out of interest, what weapons/classes were you guys playing on your first playthrough of DS1? Quote
Erratic Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 I did a two handed wanderer/katana dex/stamina playthrough first go and a spear/shield/strength play through after that. Shield/Spear was a lot of fun, attacking while blocking is too good. I don't think I've ever played a straight up mage before in these games. I remember doing a bit in Demon's Souls but it was a cake walk for the first couple levels. Quote

With some pyro in there for easy boss kills. Quote
Algor Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Did shield & lightning spear on first playthrough because attacking while blocking is good and I didn't know anything about the proper game. Class points were all across the board. Then I played Demon's Souls with a similar build, wish I'd tried something different. I created a new char for Dark Souls DLC as enchanted claymore / shield / high intelligence caster. Because the weapons were geared to my build they nuked almost everyone and made my old builds seem like a joke. DS2 rolling a paladin-ish char with high strength and faith. Lightning bolt and ultra greatsword are plowing through most enemies. Still haven't found the right weapon for my build though. Anyone using Dark magic? Quote
Algor Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 (edited) Is there any way to get an item drop if an enemy falls off a cliff? I seem to remember in DS1 you could quit and restart the game and if an item dropped it would appear at the edge of the cliff. No such luck with that in DS2... The fatty troll in Tutorial Land fell of a cliff, and the phantom in Huntsman's Copse fell off the cliff. Edited April 3, 2014 by Algor Quote
Erratic Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I thought I remember you auto-getting the item when an enemy dies off a cliff in the previous game. Possible he died and didn't drop anything... Quote
Vilham Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 yeah that doesn't happen anymore, item is lost. Quote
Algor Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) Took down skeletor trio tonight on something around 10 tries. At least they were nice enough to dumb down those skeleton wheels during that fight. Had a few more tries at the gargoyles, wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the assholes that invade on the way to it Similar to the Last Giant, this boss seems like another no-lock-on training, maybe mixed with Four Kings style battle for time Edited April 4, 2014 by Algor Quote
Rick_D Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I changed up my playstyle for the gargoyles, +5'd a Large Club, put on some good fire resistance gear that was relatively lightweight, and just 2-handed the club when I had the chance. the key to that fight is to out-DPS the gargoyles spawn timer. You need to have a max of 2 alive at any one moment otherwise it just gets too crazy. My club killed them in 1 combo wielded 2-handed, so that made it just a case of waiting for an opening and avoiding their attacks. Seriously; dps dps dps. Quote
PogoP Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 FFS this game needs to hurry up and come out on PC. My only reason is I don't wanna have to resubscribe to XBL just to play this game... Plus I'd need to set up my 360 again! Quote

Rick_D Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I have a +10 large club atm, it is wrecking shit on a daily basis. havel's ring and some decent armour means i don't get fucked up and can run like crazy. i would love to go back to the taurus demon and one-shot that cunt. he gave me so much trouble when i first started playing ;_; Quote
