FrieChamp Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 I tried the demo, it's fun! Love the jetpack! Quote
Serenius Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 Everything is better with bacon jetpacks. Quote
Puddy Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 It was fun to hop around and slash things for the duration of the demo (especially in the jump pack). I don't think it can be stretched out to a full game though. But I may be wrong. Quote

That's like saying; It was fun to run around and shoot things in ever other game, but I don't think it could be stretched out into a full game. For me I couldn't get enough of the gameplay in that demo. However they are going to mix up the gameplay more than you think but I do wish you could play some other characters with different abilities from the universe. Quote
Puddy Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 I'm just suspecting that thing will get repetitive in this particular game. Different games show different levels of promise in their demos/previews and whilst the game seemed fun, I'm just wondering how long it'll last. Quote
D3ads Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Relic games are made up of a lot of super Warhammer nerds, so if DOW is anything to go by then this should be epic. Waiting for the Space Hulk game btw Quote

Judging from the demo, I somehow doubt this will be the case, unless you're the kind of person who got tired of eviscerating minotaurs and gorgons halfway through God of War. Quote

I'm a PC gamer so I wouldn't know Thing is, I just think the melee combat lacked some finesse, like that found in for example Arkham Asylum. At most times I was just spamming my way through the fights and the game didn't really punish me for it... Quote

So I guess my opinion is biased to liking space marines combat more. Quote
arhurt Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 I wouldn't say Arkham was repetitive and boring... just a lot more slow paced and tactical. The "don't get hit" combo mechanic worked wonders and the mob fights difficulty curve was spot on throughout the entire game. Space Marine and God of War, on the other hand, are a lot faster paced and focus on you getting in "the flow", thus larger and larger combats with the odd mix (medusas + minotaurs, fuck) to shake you out of the comfort zone. I'm confident it will be good, but will hold my judgement until I see it Quote
