D3ads Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 This does look very impressive I must say, being able to play as the different enemy classes is a very good step towards some very diverse gameplay, like Natural Selection with zombies Quote
FrieChamp Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Coop and zombie games, I see a new thrend there. Anyway, sounds cool, looking forward to see all the described in motion. I had a slightly similar idea a few years back actually and wrote a little design document. A MOD for UT2003 set in the future, a small group of rebels fights an intergalactic dictator and his soldiers (this sounds a lot like Star Wars now that I write it down again, but think more badass and high tech, less fantasy...). The group consists of 5 classes, each with cool high tech weapons (one class is a special forces droid turned against the evil empire), but all of them basically follow the medic, heavy arms guy, spy etc. scheme. The group of players has to complete objectives in a level (similar to the UT Assault mode) and fight plenty of enemy soldiers which are AI controlled, but can also be played by real players. If one of the players in the bad guys team dies, he takes control of the next one until there are none left. The Zombie/Survival theme and the different zombie classes with individual, special powers take this to a completely different level though Quote
st0lve Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I think it's a standalone gameI hope not, cause I'm not paying a single dollar for another game with HL2 textures (there are some in the scans). Quote

Then I guess you didn't buy Episode 1 either? No, I just didn't care for more HL2, I didn't really like the storyline + too expensive.. But that is the reason why I didn't buy or even think about buying Sin episodes (I know it didnt ship with lots of hl2 content, but it had some). Quote
⌐■_■ Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 miss out on the sweet action then. its your own choice. Quote
DelaZ Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 That's a bit sad imo, a couple of textures won't make a good game any lesser. Quote
Zacker Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Offtopic, but imo it's cool that developers focus on creating great games instead of being nazi about replacing each and every asset. Quote
OrnateBaboon Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 A hands on of the game, and an interview with Turtle Rock. http://www.left4dead411.com/left-4-dead ... w-trip.php http://www.shacknews.com/extras/2007/04 ... ead_qa_1.x Quote
