Xanthi Posted November 11, 2016 Report Posted November 11, 2016 I think VR can really push the RTS genre to the next level. Same btw with AR. @blackdog How can you say it's unplayable if you didn't play it yet? Game development is all about trying new things to push our industry further as a whole. blackdog Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 It clearly is from the video, and friends who saw the video (who are fans of C&C) are of the same opinion. the interface is clunky and slow, I don't see how this prototype is benefitting for being VR. What this really is, is a port/reskin of the Unreal VR Editor, just swaps the asset. Of course people need to try stuff to understand VR, but you can't objectively say this looks amazing/impressive just because it taps in your retro nostalgia love. It's an almost 1-to-1 clone of the original, with its pros and cons… where the latter outweighs the former. If the interface was something almost as quick as the good old mouse, I'd be impressed, but I don't see anything original yet. Quote
clankill3r Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 I really dislike the pad that you have to use. I rather would aim at the ground and see a pie menu popping up. Also I would prefer ortho over perspective. Anyway, i really like they give it a try. Things might develop positive over time. Atleast it is something else then shooting from a position like most of the other VR games. blackdog and Seldoon182 2 Quote
